The Class Ring

Seokjin and Taehyung were 14 years old when they met the summer before high school started.

Taehyung was playing a game of football with his childhood friend Min Yoongi & older brother Kim Namjoon in the local park and having a good time.

At that same time Seokjin was walking towards the park with his best friend Hoseok or "Hobi" as he likes to be called, just to kill time.

They were bored at home after binge watching every possible show/movie available on TV. So they decided to get some fresh air and maybe ice cream on the way.

When they arrived at the park they spotted an ice cream vendor and ordered two cones and kept walking until they found a bench.

It was while they were just sitting and joking around that the football that Namjoon threw towards Tae overshot. And was heading straight for the bench where Jin and Hobi were sitting, totally unaware of their fate.

"Look out!" Tae yells out. But it was too late.

The ball hit Jin straight on his face, knocking him and his cone on the ground. Tae falls on top of him right after unable to stop himself from trying to reach the ball.

What happens next was purely magical, according to how Jin recalls their first meeting. Everything seemed to go in slow motion.

Tae helps Jin up, apologizing profusely. Hobi is yelling at him to get away from his best friend after trying to kill him.

Once Jin gets his senses back and dusts himself off, he then turns to look at Tae who is also looking at him.

They both are in a daze. Too stunned by the other to form any words.

After what seems like an eternity Tae finally says, "I'm really sorry, my brother threw the ball too far and I couldn't reach it in time." and bows repeatedly.

"Yah! You need to be more careful. You could've killed my best friend. I should beat you to within an inch of your life!" Hobi yells at him.

"It's Ok Hobi, I'm fine. It'll bruise a little but I still look handsome. Don't I?" Jin asked while pinching him and tickling him to cheer him up.

But Hobi still tries to reach around him to try punching Taehyung. Before he has a chance to reach his face someone reaches over and grabs his arm stopping him.

"Who the hell do you think you are? My friend already apologized to him. Your friend isn't making a big deal out of it. So why are you trying to hit my friend?" Tae's friend Yoongi tells him.

After that Hobi, Yoongi and Namjoon were all arguing amongst themselves while Taehyung pulled Jin to the side.

"I'm really sorry. Is there anything I can do to make it up to you?"

Jin, still dazed by the handsome boy in front of him doesn't reply. So Taehyung has to shake him by the shoulder.

"Are you Ok? Do you feel a concussion? Should I take you to the hospital?"

It is then that Jin snaps out of it and tells him that he is fine. And that he shouldn't worry about making things up to him.

"Well, if you are sure. Um, my name is Kim Taehyung, or just Tae. What's your name?" He asks Jin.

"Kim Seokjin, but my friends call me Jin." Both with heart eyes, smile at each other.

Later when they tell their friends the story of how they met,  they say that they both saw stars. Hobi and Yoongi however explain that away as the bumps on their head from the fall.
