When Sans opened the door the house was silent, to silent for him just after a genocide run.  Sans had begun to look and he found a note explaining that Papyrus would be gone for the night.  Sans felt a chill run down his spine, he did not want to be alone but he still tried.  It was a few hours before the loneliness got to him.

Sans had begun to rock back and forth whispering "it's alright Papy's alive. No dust. They're alive."  It was also at this time Grillby had noticed that someone had accidentally left something behind.  As he looked to see what it was he knew that it was Sans's phone.  So Grillby knew that he should get it back so he got ready and set off to Sans's house.

When he had got to the house Grillby knocked and no one answered.  He had begun to grow concerned as he had opened the unlocked door 'what is Asgore's name is he talking about' He thought but the moment he looked up he saw Sans crying and now he was on the floor.  Sans was in tears surrounded by blue and yellow smoke that was being emitted from his eye.

Grillby rushed over to Sans and knelt down beside him.  This was when he started to hear what Sans had been saying.  What Grillby had heard was now "Everything's fine. No one's dead. No more dust. Papy's alive. You don't need to fight." Then it turned to "You're a pathetic excuse for a monster and a brother Sans, you let everyone die. You let them down." and many more things.

Grillby was in a concerned state of shock 'what does he mean by that, why would he think such things of himself?' Grillby had thought but he just put the phone down and pulled Sans in and hugged him.  This seemed to snap Sans back to reality but Sans just went limp.  This caught Grillby's attention and as he looked down he could see that Sans was filled with tears.

The only times that Grillby had seen Sans in tears was when Sans was drunk.  Grillby lifted Sans's face up and to his surprise Sans wasn't smiling.  Even when Sans was drunk crying he was still smiling. This was his permanent smile.  He began to wipe the tears from his friends' eyes.  Sans just put his head back into Grillby's chest and started to apologize.
