•Cameron's POV•
I walk over to her and sh- wait I don't know her name?? What the fuck? I'm going on a date with this chick and don't know her name. Way to go Cameron. She broke my thoughts with her sentence.
"Sick game."
"Yeah,it was. Ummm not to seem like I don't know you but I don't I just mean tha-.."
"Joanna"
"Thanks and how'd you now I was asking that?"
"Because you haven't called me by my name yet soo I just thought you would want to know it since you know." she said referring to the date.
"Yeah so are you ready?"
She looks confused. Maybe I should've told her that we're going on it now."Wait now?" She says
"Yes. The sooner the better." I smile
"O-ok let me just umm g-go tell my dad and I'll be back." She leaves with that."Hey dude what going on?" My best friend, Ashby asks. We've been friends for a while now and it's like we're brothers instead of friends. I would do anything for him.
"She just has to tell her dad and then we'll leave." I say gathering my things.
"You better hope that her dad isn't that gym monkey over there." Ashby says pointing to the unreal buff dude to our left. Gosh I hope not.
"Did you tell her that we are leaving in a week?" He questions
Shit! I forgot about that. I start to think about it and I guess my face starts to contort so he speaks up. "Dude.... you really thought you could be serious with her? You're a celebrity. You travel all the time. Hundreds of girls follow wait no STALK you every second of the day. You can't have a serious relationship. It just won't work."As he took a breath from his speech, I speak up.
"I could maybe... have a relationship. And it could maybe be with her. Just because I'm leaving doesn't mean that we can't still talk" I say"Yeah I mean you can still talk like little heys and 'hi's here and there but nothing like 'hey let's go get something to eat and make out later' ." he says the last part in a deep voice. I laugh at the fact that he thinks I sound like that.
"Two things wrong with that. One- I would never say 'lets make out' and two- I would never just say hi and leave it at that." I say
"You think you wouldn't but you will once you leave her. Give it a couple of weeks. You'll be busy and she won't and she'll text you thinking you'll remember her but you won't. And that's where the heys and hi's come in." He took a deeper breath then the first speech. I don't want to believe him but he's making a little sense."Well man, I don't even know her and I'm sure we won't have sex tonight so there won't be any excuse for a 'connection' ." I use hand quotations when I say connection.
"You might bro with the way she keeps looking at you." he nods his head towards her. I haven't even noticed that we have been talking so long. I forgot about everything Ashby and I just talked about when she starts to walk towards me. Her smile is just so bright. I swear it could light up the darkest room. Wow didn't mean to sound like the cheesy dork in the world. But I did so deal with it.
