“Where’s Ryan, dad?” Raina approaches her resting father in the living room.
“We’ve told you before, Raina,” Katherine tells her soothingly beside her husband.
“He’s not dead, mommy! Ry Ry wouldn’t just leave me like that!” Raina stomps her foot in protest.
“Raina, please,” Kane pleads, his eyes tearing up at the mention of his deceased son.
“Ryan needs to play with me, now! I need Ryan,” Raina bursts into tears.
“He’s gone, Raina! Ryan’s dead. He’s been gone for nine months now, get used to it!” Katherine bursts.
“Don’t talk about my son like that, you bitch,” Kane turns to his wife of eleven years.
“What?” Katherine asks, flabbergasted.
“We can’t get used to it! We’re never going to get used to it! Now get out!” Kane screams.
