The opening starts with a girl named Gabby.
A/N: This is just a summary of the consequences of realizing your element. A this person may or may not be seen later on in another chapter, but for now they stay in this chapter, alone.I open my pantry, gazing over the various options bestowed before me. I thought of hauling the entire thing onto my bed, but that was a very obviously bad idea. The contents were of; An old and empty bag of lays, half eaten package of cookies, and a selection of several bags of nuts. I sigh, slamming it behind me. Ever since I'd gained the title; 'Dark Elemental' I'd been utterly depressed, and aggravated. I couldn't blame myself, though. Once I'd gotten my powers, nothing would happen. I guess I didn't exactly know what 'dark' meant. It could mean a lot of things, in which I didn't know. I look out my dorm window, out at the city. Thousands of people cluttering the streets, filling it with power after power, after power. All were gifted something honorable such as 'lighting', 'magic', 'water' something pleasant, exciting. Yet I was cursed with this burden, of destruction and pain. Or at-least that's how I saw it.
I saw fumes of smoke spiraling through my bathroom, and I thought things couldn't get worse. I stepped carefully over to the door, creaking it open. I could smell the treachery already. My towels were lit on fire, along with some other flammable belongings. Instead of grabbing water, or something to help— I just watched the flames dance. As I kept staring, they were getting closer and closer until they touched the tip of my tee shirt, setting me aflame. I should've screamed, done something. But instead, I hit a clothing rack and collapsed onto the ground. It was time for me to die.
So I did.
But wait?
I'm not dead?
It was a hallucination?
...
Darkness, I am forever in your favor.
But it wasn't you that saved me, was it.
...
Okay.
