________________________Chapter 4
I was walking down the hall in search of Clark who disappeared, and he called me the ditcher, when I finally decided to give up. Mostly because I saw Melanie walking down the hall and took the chance to leave undetected. I quickly slipped into the school courtyard. It's a really nice courtyard. The outer rim is covered in flowers and vines to make it look more private than it is. With a few trees and benches inside its a nice getaway. I herd some voices and decided to see who it was and let them know someone else was in the courtyard with them. That's when I heard my name. Intrigued I decided to eavesdrop.
"Please just don't tell Hunter until I'm ready!"
"Fine I won't tell Hunter"
I was curious enough by now. I swung around the tree I was hiding behind to reveal my presence. Clark's head snapped up when he noticed me. There was a petite brunette sitting on the bench in front of me. She hadn't noticed me yet so I decided to catch her attention.
"Won't tell Hunter what?" She jumped up and turned around. Her brown eyes met mine and there was a certain familiarity about them. I just couldn't put my finger on it. We both stared at each other in complete wonder for what seemed like forever.
"Can I tell him now?" Clark my stupid best friend snaps me and brown eyes out of our trance. I smirk as she hits him on the head.
"I like her. One question who is she?" I state while chuckling at Clarks pain and annoyance. At this Clark smirked while she seemed to glare at him. He opened his mouth to say something when she not so subtly elbowed him. I'm gonna guess she meant to hit him in the stomach. However I'm not complaining that she missed.
"My name is Candi, and you're Hunter. And this pathetic excuse of a human is my best friend Clark!" She smiled charmingly as she slung her arm carelessly around Clarks shoulder. She then proceeded to give him a hug and release him. A now annoyed Clark gave her a soft glare before turning to smile at me.
"Yeah totally, best friends." He managed to choke out. I laughed at his pain a little more and turned to Candi. I noticed her blush when I caught her looking at me. She turned her head down so her hair covered her face and her eyes were trained on her feet. I frowned slightly and pushed her chin back up with my finger. I did this gently. Like i was afraid that her chin would crack.
Our eyes met and I could swear i had met her before. Suddenly she whipped her head to the side.
"We should get going, wouldn't want to be late for our first classes!" She quickly starts walking away from Clark and I.
"Well that was fun!" Clark exclaims, his eyes held a mischievous glint in them as he smiled at the door Candi walked back in to the school through. He starts heading in the other direction.
I shake my head and gather up my thoughts as I headed out to my first three classes. My first class, English nearly bored me to death while my second class, art put me in a good mood. In my third morning class I walked in and noticed a brown head of curly hair in the back, she was looking down at a book intently. Her face changing with each word as the sentences captivated her and drew her in, in to a new world. My feet guided me towards her. She still hadn't noticed me yet so I decided to surprise her. I crept slowly behind her. Suddenly I put my hands on her shoulders. She jumped in her spot and in one swift movement took my arm in her hands and twisted it around.
