"Have a great first day honey!" Quinn's mum yelled from the kitchen.

"I'll try!" she replied, walking out the door.

The bus drove around the corner just as she got to the end of her driveway.

Just in time. She thought.

She hopped on the bus and sat on a window seat, knowing in a few stops her best friend would be sitting beside her. She put her headphones in, Taylor Swift began to play and Quinn began to imagine her life elsewhere, perhaps on the broadway stage or on the silver screen.

One more year. One more year until I'm at Juilliard, out of this tiny town.

Before she knew it, Andrea was walking towards her down the isle of the bus. Andrea was not only her best friend, but also her twin, they had the same, dark brown hair, dark brown eyes and pale skin.

"Are you ready, the last, first day ever!" Andrea said as she sat next to Quinn.

"I am beyond excited." Quinn replied.

Quinn hadn't told Andrea about her plans to go to Juilliard and move to New York. She knew this would disappoint her because Andrea was staying here in Chesterbrook, planning to attend a community college 20 minutes away.

"I forgot my headphones!" Andrea said in despair.

"Here." Quinn said, giving her the right earbud.

They jammed to Taylor Swift until they reached Chesterbrook High.

The pair walked through the doors and to their lockers. Looking over her timetable, Quinn noticed she had English first.

"Ugh I have English with Mr Patteti first up." Quinn moaned.

"Unlucky, I have history with Ms Gladys." Andrea said.

The two girls came to a junction, they said their goodbyes and each headed the opposite way. Quinn walked up to her classroom door and pulled it open, despite being a couple minutes early. She walked in and saw her classmates standing against the wall at the back of the room.

"Stand at the back of the class, I will be putting you in a seating arrangement for the year." Mr Patteti said sternly.

Quinn walked up to the back wall, seeing familiar faces but no one she was close with. She began to fiddle with the handle of her backpack whilst wondering who she would be put next to. The rest of the class piled in from the chaotic hallway.

"Alright class, this is your final year, as seniors I expect you all to be mature and respectful." Mr Patteti drones on for another five minutes before he begins to read out the seating plan.

"Jeremy, here. Susan, here. Levi, here. Emily, here." He called.

Boy-girl order, classic. She thought.

"Theodore, here." He said.

Theodore? I've never seen him before. She wondered, noticing his dark auburn hair and piercing blue eyes.

"Quinn, here." Mr Patteti called.

"Quinn?" He questioned when no one replied.

"Ah yes? Sorry sir." Quinn replied.

"Your seat, Miss Pendragon." He said whilst pointing at the desk.

Quinn began to walk towards her seat, now blushing. She sat down, looking subtly at Theo.

"Now class, this semester we will be looking at literature and poems, we will be focusing on Shakespeare's classics, such as Macbeth." Mr Patteti's voice drifted in one of Quinn's ears and out the other. She stared at her blank page and began to draw sunflowers.

"Hey." She heard a voice whisper.

"Can I borrow a pen, I'll give it back I promise." Theo whispered next to her.

"Ah sure." Quinn replied awkwardly.

"Thanks. Gee, I might take a nap in this class if he continues to speak like that." He said, referencing Mr Patteti's robot tone.

Quinn smiled, "Me too, remind me to make a coffee every Monday morning to avoid getting a detention for sleeping in class."

He chuckled. Mr Patteti saw and stopped his lecture.

"Theodore, is there something you'd like to share with the class?"

"No sir." Theo replied.

"You wouldn't want to get a detention on your first day at a new school would you now?"

"No sir." Theo recited.

Mr Patteti continued with his lesson. Theo began to tear out a piece of paper quietly, then write something down. He slid the piece of paper across to Quinn. It was his Snapchat username.

For the help we will no doubt need when doing homework for this class. He wrote.

She smiled at him, pulling her phone out subtly and typing in his username. She had only just met him but she knew she liked him. There seemed to be an instant, invisible attraction.

She knew this year was going to be a good one.
