I was piqued with how I was belittled by that provocatively bold lady.

"Who is she and what gave her the audacity to speak against Jeff?
I guess there's something fishy about how she's so perky and unafraid of Jeff. I wondered what has happened between them that gave her such dexterity." I stray off in my thoughts after leaving the meeting room in a frenzy.

I've even forgotten that Jeff scurried after me, his voice rejuvenate me back from my thoughts.

"Ava, please wait." his face crunches up as he lunge forward to me.

"So, what do you have to say? Everything was going well and fine until she came. Who is she, Jeff and why is she so confident even before you?! I think I'm missing a part and it's not of importance to you to tell me beforehand. You allowed her to ridiculed me and call me a weakling. I was judged even before I was known. Is it a crime to be a human? Is it an iniquity to be mated to you? Is it an offence to love you?" I yelled at him. I'm obviously fuming and I hope I don't hurt myself in the process.

He was hesitant for some time before replying back;

"I'm very sorry for everything, Ava. Please just calm down, I will tell you everything about her tonight." He flick with an apologetic face.

"You know what, Jeff? Your world doesn't accept me so what's the point of telling me about someone who is more stronger than me and will win in the stupid challenge she brought up?" I snapped at him.

He reached out and took my two hands rubbing them gently, the pleasurable tingles got into work.

Damnit!! Stupid tingles!

He looked at me with passion and spoke softly;

"Ava, please don't let her prejudice pull down your walls. You are the one I want not that stupid bitch.
And I know and have confirmed that you are the strongest woman I've known, you don't need to prove yourself for me. But if you decide to take the challenge, I'm confidently sure you are going to win that challenge, baby no matter what and even if it's the other way round, I'll leave everything here for you. I can't live without you baby."

He sighs and shows some form of distress;

"Please just calm down,okay and I promise to explain everything to you this night, I promise."

"Okay but now, I just want to be alone."

And with that, I removed my hand from his and went out of the council's edifice. I felt his stares on me as I walked out. He must be very sad about the whole situation but what am I to do now?

"I will surprise you all." My last statement before leaving the meeting room came back to my memory. I was so exasperated by what went on in there that I have to say something to save my hat and without even knowing how I meant that.

Why didn't I even think through before saying that? I don't have any fighting skills let alone punch someone and win this useless challenge. Jeff said I'm strong and believes that I'm going to win but how do I work this through within 14 days? O God! Do I have to prove myself before they can accept me as Jeff's mate? Why can't even Jeff have power to forcely impose the order of my acceptance by them?
What's the essence of him being an Almighty Alpha when he can't give a strict order and make them obey in accordance?
