Chapter 12

When they arrive back in California

Zayn- Theres my little superstar! (My father says as I walk into the One Direction household. I look at him before running up the stairs and into my room locking the door.)
Harry- What happened to Julianna?
Charlotte- Well considering that you all fucking promised my daughter that you would all come to the show today. (All the boys go silent.) That's right the show was today. She was so scared to get on that stage but just thinking that y'all would be their for her motivated her enough to get on that stage and sing her little heart out. I watched as her smile fell when she didn't see y'all out there! You five should be ashamed of yourselves!(Charlotte storms up the stairs and slams the door to hers and Zayn's room.)
Harry- Shit dudes. We fucked up big time. (They all sit down on the couch. I slowly walk down the stairs.)
Zayn- Babygirl we are so sorry.
Annie- Leave me alone. (I walk into the kitchen.)
Zayn- Julianna Grace Malik! You will not be disrespectful. I am your father.
Annie- As a father you shouldn't have told me that you would be there today and end up skipping without even telling me you couldn't make it! (We all bear a loud crash coming from upstairs. Uncle Louis takes me in his arms as my Uncle Harry and my Father run up the stairs.)
Zayn- Charlotte please!
Charlotte- No Zayn! I'm getting my daughters and we are leaving! (My mommy runs down the stairs crying her eyes out with my 7 year old sister, Hayley, in her arms.) Come on Annie. We are leaving.
Louis- Char what is going on!
Charlotte- I don't know. Ask Zayn who Gigi is. (She takes my hand and we walk out of the house getting into my mommy's Tesla.)
Annie- Mummy why are we leaving?
Charlotte- You wouldn't understand Julianna. Just know that our life will be different from now on.

3 years later.

It has been 3 years since the day I last saw my father, and my uncles. Since then we had moved to New York and I have grown up a lot.

Charlotte- Julianna!
Annie- Yes, ma'am? (I walk downstairs.)
Hayley- Sissy, we are going to move to California!
Annie- Mum, why are we moving back there?
Charlotte- Julianna, your Uncle Harold and Uncle Louis, want to see you. I can't deny them seeing you, after all, they don't have a thing to do with your father anymore.

They arrive back in California.

Annie- (As I stare up at my old childhood home I feel a tear slide down my cheek. I quickly wipe it away before I knock on the door.)
Harry- Hello?
Annie- Uncle Harry?
Harry- Julianna! (He hugs me tightly.)
Hayley- Sissy!
Annie- Hay, meet your Uncle Harry. Mum don't I have a meeting with Matt?
Charlotte- Yes you do. Harry volunteered to take you so I can unpack all of our things.
Annie- Ok, so when we gonna leave Uncle Harry?
Harry- Now? (We get into his truck after we take a Instagram Photo)

Annie- Nope, and I don't really care because for about a year after my parent's divorce I tried so hard to get in contact with him but he never responded back. He lost me a long time ago. Hayley doesn't even know that she has a father and she is 10!
Harry- I understand Annie. (We walk into my managers office to hear the one person that broke up my parents. Gigi Hadid.) Shit, why is she here.
Gigi- Harry! Who's this kid?
Annie- Hi, I'm Julianna Malik.
Gigi- Malik?
Annie- Yep, my last name is Malik. I'm known as Zayn Malik's first born daughter. You must be my father's new lover Gigi Hadid?
Gigi- I didn't know he had a daughter.
Annie- He has two daughters actually, me and my younger sister Hayley Malik.
Matt- Annie?
Annie- Hey Matt. You scheduled a meeting with me?
Matt- Yes, I wanted to know if you would like to perform with your father in California tomorrow. Before you say no, just know that this will be your big break through.
Annie- I'm going to have to talk to my mum on this. Doing this wouldn't just ruin my happiness but hers too.
Zayn- Gigi? (My father walks in the room making me freeze.) Who's this?
Annie- (I turn around slowly.) Hello, Daddy.
Zayn- Julianna? You have grown up to look so much like Charlotte.
Annie- I'm glad that I look so much like my mother, but Hayley on the other hand looks exactly like you. It reminds mum of you so much that every time someone comment on her Instagram about it. I will find her in her room crying. (My phone starts ringing. I look at the contact to see it's Hayley.)

Phone call:
Annie: Whats up hay?
Hayley: Anns it is mummy. She didn't take her meds this morning.
Annie: Look, Hayley. Go into my room and lock the door. Then go into my closet and lock that door and sit there until I come. Uncle Harry and me will be there soon. I love you, Hayley.
Hayley:I love you too Annie.
End of phone call.

Annie- Uncle Harry we got to get home. Mum...she didn't take her meds this morning. She has gotten worse over these three years.
Harry- Lets go then. (I go to walk out but my father pulls me back.)
Zayn- Has she ever hit you or Hayley?
Annie- Mother normally doesn't come out of her room if she doesn't take it but if we do something that makes her mad. What she will do is unguessable. But no. She has never hit us.
Zayn- Please call me once y'all get to the house.
Annie- Maybe. (I walk out)
