It is strange how one minute everything is fine then it instantly takes a turn for the worse. It is as if time has froze for those few brief moments before everything you have ever known suddenly takes a turn for the worse. Fate seems to be laughing in the face of your pain, and it is seemingly endless. Those kind of events don't just leave, they stick with you no matter how much you wish for them to just go from your memory and never return. My mothers death was one of those such events, a burden on your soul for days and days to come. The burden has still not left me, no matter how much I wished or prayed. The memory will always be a burden on my soul, and deep inside I know this, I just wish to abandon this fate.

"Damon, are you listening to me? I swear to Zuxthar, this child enjoys the pits of Hell!" My mother had yelled across the table. Whenever something happened that she herself did not enjoy, she dealt with it. Whether it was a positive or negative choice had varied. Disrespect from me was one thing she dealt with in a negative way. The dungeons was basically my living quarters at this point, and I was beginning to enjoy it down there. The pain I received had just faded, and I learned to cope with it. However, the constant lectures had annoyed and angered me more than it should have, fore this was the beginning of my fate.

The smallest of things may trigger my mothers defensive mode, including this small thing. I was stuck in thought, slowly having my fists clench and unclench around my dagger I was holding. This constant torture was getting to me, quite a lot. She was getting to me. Not just the torture or the lectures, it was her. This whole time I have been blaming it all on these stupid little things when it was her, my demented mother, all along! The anger within my soul that I had kept in for so long had raised to the surface. Why had I only just now seen this? Why have I been so submissive? That was when I snapped out of thought and realized I was facing where my mother had been. Where had she gone? Where was my dagger? Why is my arm stretched out like it is? Only after I had asked those questions had I seen the pool of blood on the floor.

"Mother?! Mother! Are you okay!?" I had frantically said while rushing over to the blood source. My dagger was burried deep within her skull. It was obvious that so much force had been put into that throw, a force only pure rage could cause. A force that only I may have caused. I collapsed to my knees at her side, tears of grief streaming down my cheeks. Why do I feel bad? She put this on herself! "Mom... Mom I am so sorry..." I closed her eyes and took my dagger, a squish and crunch sound had been heard as I took the dagger from her head. Silent sobs and cries had emerged from my lips as I stared down at her cold and lifeless body. What had I done?

"You moron!" Cyber, my small metal-plate dragon, had voiced as he sat upon the table, staring at the dead queen in horror. "I told you to stop, I did! And now look what happened! You killed your own bloody mother!" Was the lecture I had gotten as the small thing leaped onto my shoulder. It wasn't long before I heard the clutter clatter of armor coming down the grand hall and towards the Feasting Hall. "We need to go Damon, now!" The small dragon had hissed out. I didn't need a second reminder, I would be hung for this! Prince or not, I just committed murder!

Cyber buried himself within my pitch black cloak as I sprinted down the opposite hall. I had silently wandered the halls at night, and learned the ways of an assassin all on my own. My footsteps were silent as I made my way through the quiet halls, and out the Kitchen door. The stables were right ahead and Cruentus, my large and noble black steed, had been ready and waiting for me. Thank Zuxthar for me forgetting to unsaddle him! I sprinted as fast as I could to Cruentus, leaping on with insane speed. Right when I got on Cruentus he sensed my fear, and galloped as fast as he could. My fate was laid ahead of me. What had I caused?
