Hyesun decides to stay at her parent's home in the countryside where she grew up. She decided it would be a good idea to leave the city and stay in their place until she settles with her new agency. Her mother tells her that she and her father is to leave the night to attend an important meeting and will be back as soon as the storm surfaces.
Before leaving, her mother tells her that her "son-in-law" will come tonight to pick up a few boxes of persimmon and to make sure she opens the door for him.It was a rainy night for a storm is about to hit and she decides to sit by the window and read her book just when she heard someone frantically knocking outside
She might have thought that her brother in-law which was the husband to her older sister should have come the day after to pick the boxes of persimmon considering that the rain won't stop at all costs for the night.
She opens the door and a man soaked in rain enters, only wearing a black hooded jacket.
"Gee, the rain really hit you bad." Hyesun says as she prepares a towel for her brother-in-law."I couldn't miss the last train." Says a deep familiar voice which does not belong to her brother-in-law at all. Her grip on the towel tightens as she was too bothered to think if she heard the exact tone of voice she wasn't expecting to hear.
"I couldn't miss the last train." Says a deep familiar voice which does not belong to her brother-in-law at all. Her grip on the towel tightens as she was too bothered to think if she heard the exact tone of voice she wasn't expecting to hear.
The man takes off his black hooded jacket only to reveal that the guy in fact, is not her brother-in-law but Minho instead. Soaked in rain.
"I wonder if you have come to pick up the boxes of persimmon?" She asks him out of suspicion if he was the son-in-law her mom had mentioned about before they left and as expected he nods. She swallows a lump in her throat as she doesn't know what to say and react to him after actually seeing him face to face.
Just as realization hits her, the storm finally comes and hits the grounds as the rain becomes heavier. She thinks to herself that her mom may actually be planning another trick on her as she would always mention that it would have been better if Minho was the man she married rather than the guy that caused her trouble. She thought that at this point, her mom had already made a move for her without even letting her know.
She turns to Minho who was drenched in rain standing just by the door, she noticed he might actually be freezing at this weather.
"I think you need to change first." She says as she hands him the towel. "I still have some of your clothes..." She said looking at the ground trying hard not to make eye-contact with him as she went to her room to pick the clothes he owned that she used to wear when they were together, she hoped that those clothes still fit him as he had a different built a few years ago than he is now. She had maybe a few of his old shirts that she had in that house but as expected it was all too small for him now.
"It's fine, I'll just wait for my clothes to dry.." Minho says as he takes his clothes in the laundry room by himself as if it was his own home. Minho may still be familiar with the place since it has only been 5 years since they broke up.
Hyesun goes to her father's room to find him an underwear that could fit. She hands him the underwear while avoiding his gaze.
"I hope you don't mind if I'm half naked." Minho says as he went in to change.
Thunder hits the grounds over and over as the rain becomes heavier. Hyesun thinks to herself again that maybe the son-in-law her mother may have talked about might as well be Minho. Her mom is really sly.
She prepares hot choco for him seeing he might be hiding the fact that he is actually freezing from the cold.
She sees his bag from the floor which was also soaked in rain so she takes his belongings out of the bag for it to dry.
She laughed at the thought that everything in his bag got all wet including his phone.
She takes it all one by one and wipes It with a towel to dry. Until a red velvet box caught her attention... She checks around if Minho was out of the bathroom before she could actually check what's inside it.
She opens the box to find two rings inside, the larger ring had "HS" engraved on it and a smaller one with an "MH" engraved on it as well.
She hears the bathroom door open and frantically closes the box and puts it to place. Good thing Minho was still wiping his hair dry before he even saw what she was doing.
"I-I have prepared hot choco for you.." She says as she sits at the table fronting him.
He looks at what she prepared, Hot choco with mallows on top, just as he always liked. He smiled at that.
"Your mom and I had been meeting since the past few months, she even brings me food during taping." He says as he brings the cup of hot choco into his mouth.
She nods to that, confirming that her mom indeed made a move for her. No wonder her mom was busy making food for the past few months, she thought it might be for her sister and their family in the city, but it was for Minho instead."
"I didn't know you would come." She tells him, again avoiding his look.
"Your mom said she already told you..." He replied "She even said you were excited to see me." He added.
Hyesun's face turns red over his remark. "She didn't tell me you were coming." She defended herself.
He smiles knowing her reaction.
"Look, just don't mind everything my mom is telling you she's.. just ahhhh." She stutters reminded of the pair of rings she saw just a while ago...
But what startled her was Minho getting up from the table to sit next to her, he says in her ears " I'm here to take you back."
