6:22 AM

Kai was silently walking through the sidewalk that freshly snowplowed. Despite how much sun was shining brightly, it was cold. So cold. Like a bone-freezing cold.

It was snowing again. Little white dots were decorating Kai's black, slim coat and his silk-like brown hair, making him brush them away with his boney fingers continuously.

He inhaled a deep breath and exhaled it from his mouth. He watched as his hot breath turned into smoke immediately. His eyes locked into the sky for a moment, afterward to the street light that is near him. He has to wait like that until it's 7:30. He has to wait to attend the classes that he will never understand.

His feet were freezing because of how the boot he's wearing was slim, just like his coat. His hands were freezing because of how his coat's pockets were not enough to make them feel warm, just like his freezing body. His nose was burning whenever he tried to breathe, just like his throat whenever he wanted to swallow his spit.

He was feeling sick and cold. Even desperate. But he was used to it. He was used to feeling like that.

He slowly closed his eyes and listened to the silence that is too familiar to him. Just like that, he waited for time to pass. With his shaking body.

He entered the university. It was cold but not as freezing as the outside. At least he can warm himself up now.

Kai took off his backpack and slowly approached his locker and type the code, making it open with a sound. He crouched down and unzipped his baby blue, already torn apart backpack, and started to find the books that he doesn't need for now. They were making the bag very heavy, and it was hurting the bruises that are on his back.
