Summary: You are the wife of Karna and are sick. Karna takes care of you and attends to you during this time.
Note: This is after the Kurukshetra war but Karna survives the war and is living with the Pandavas and Kunti like the family they are. He's not married to Vrushali and in this story she does not exist.

You were resting in your royal chamber with a raging fever and a pounding headache. It all started last night when you could not control your legs and ran into rain. You came back not just drenched but also with a fever.
Your husband had warned you not to go out into the rain, as a common flu was spreading throughout the kingdom. And he definitely did not want you to get sick. But you took it as a challenge and here you lay now.
~~~~~~~~~
"Listen to me Chandrani, you'll get sick. A flu is spreading amidst the citizens of Hastinapur, you definitely don't want to get sick in a time like this."
He fondly called you Chandrani which means 'wife of the moon' as you spent endless hours staring at the moon and writing poems about the moon.
"Angraj, do you think I am that weak. I am taking this as a challenge to prove to you that I won't get sick."
You taunted confidentially and ran right into the pouring rain. You got yourself drenched head to toe and once you came back you started sneezing and received a 'I told you' look from Karna.
Part of you wished you had listened to you husband and stayed indoors. But there was still the mischievous part of you that justified your actions. You snapped out of this reverie when a strong hand touched your forehead delicately.
"Angraj!"
You exclaimed once you saw who the hand belonged to [you always called him Angraj, that was your nickname for him].
"Regretting something I suppose my dear wife?"
He asked with a wide grin.
You were pretending not to hear him as you were somewhat disappointed in yourself.
"Are you Chandrani, regretting something?"
He repeated. You loved replying with sarcasm. Sometimes it came out rudely, but you chose to give an answer that dripped with sarcasm this time.
"There's no need to repeat yourself Angraj, I ignored you just fine for the first time."
You replied and started laughing like a maniac. The look on his face made you laugh even harder.
"You really have mastered the art of sarcastic replies dear!"
And he started laughing too. The two of you stopped soon and you realized that you were too weak and tired to even speak.
"Are you alright?"
He asked taking note of your sudden quietness.
"Just too tired."
He sighed and took your small hand in his.
"You really have to be more considerate of your health you know..."
"Hmm....I'll think of it."
And let out a strangled giggle. Making him smile. He took a rag cloth from a table by your side and dipped it in a bowl of water and then placed it on your forehead.
You groaned at the contact as the cloth was too cold compared to your body temperature. You glanced at Karna and noticed that he had creases of worry all over is features.
"Angraj, you don't have to be so worried you know..."
"No Chandrani, if you're going to be so ignorant about your health then how do you expect me to not be worried?"
"I'm sorry. I really did not expect to get sick. I promise it won't happen again. Please..."
You said apologetically and slipped your hand back into his.
"It's alright. You don't have to apologize to me. You'll be alright."
He said and pressed a kiss on your forehead lovingly.
At this tender moment a dasi interrupted.
"Forgive me rajkumar. I brought this for rajakumari. It's a remedy for her fever."
She said with her head down and placed the silver bowl with a green liquid on the table next to the bed.
"I'll give it to her. Thank you."
Said Karna and took the bowl in his hands once the dasi bowed and left. It was then that he noticed the horrified expression on Chandrani's face.
"What's wrong Chandrani?"
"Umm....get that thing away from me please."
She said staring and gesturing at the bowl in his hands.
"But you just promised to take care of yourself dear..."
And with that he brought the bowl to your parched lips. You had no choice but to swallow the gunk in it, and you did.
"Ew...that was disgusting."
"It improves your health."
"Hmm...true too."
"You need to rest dear, you're too tired."
He said and delicately caresssed your hair.
"Alright."
And with that you closed your eyes and drifted off into a peaceful sleep.
