Azula and Katara always had some sort of chemistry. However they both couldn't even dare to think of falling in love with the enemy. Their tale started in Ba Sing Se when Long Feng captured them and put them in the same cell.
Katara was shocked to see her archnemesis in the same cell and the first thing she could think of was her dead mother.
"You?! It's because of people like you that my mother died. YOU TOOK MY MOTHER FROM ME!" She started touching her necklace, the only thing she has left of her mom. Azula's only weak point was her own mother so she actually understood Katara's feelings.
"Belive me I know how it feels" she said.
"How can you possibly know?!" Katara answered.
"It might not be the same but my own mother hates me"she responded.
"I know how it feels being hurt over parents yet look how I turned out."
"I became the strongest bender in the world" she said.
"I know that it hurts but what doesnt kill you makes you stronger."
Katara started crying and to her shock Azula hugged her.
"Let's bust out of this place now shall we?"
Katara nodded.
They didnt know this at the time but they wouldnt see each other for a long time.
