so, i recently started publishing rewritten parts of my story, the girl with the purple hoodie. if you look at the comment, read, and vote count, you'll see that there's 1k+ reads, 80+ votes, and 350+ comments. but soph, you may think, your book only has 5 (?) crappy parts! how did you get 1k reads and 350 comments so fast? the answer is that the comments and reads aren't only from those five (5) parts. idk why this works, but the reads and comments from the original draft are saved, even thought they aren't published. this seems really clickbait-y and hackish, and i'm sorry for that. i'm only showing you how i saved the comments and reads bc a few friends of mine are heavily editing their books, and losing all their readers comments, which sucks. so hey naomi, sophia, and anyone else, i got u. this is how i did it:

here's my book:

click on 'edit' to get to your story parts

if i were to click on 'view as reader', i can see the comments that people made on these chapters

if i were to click on 'view as reader', i can see the comments that people made on these chapters. i didn't want to lose those comments, so instead of deleting the content of a chapter (let's call it chapter 3) i just unpublished og chapter three, and added a new story part (chapter three 2.0).

if you're only doing major editing to some chapters but not others, you can rearrange the order of the chapters (as i've done) so they make sense

if you're only doing major editing to some chapters but not others, you can rearrange the order of the chapters (as i've done) so they make sense. you click on the weird cog button at the top right, and it brings you to this   ↴

you can click on the three lines next to each chapter, and drag it up or down the table of contents

another hack: if you want to publish or unpublish multiple chapters at once, you can click on the circle button next to the chapter, and then hit 'publish' or 'unpublish'

this makes lich relly no sense. ill happily answer any questions you have.
