BANG! Another lightning bolt strikes the cooled wet ground not to far from my house. I can't sleep. The sound of the rain hitting the roof is almost as loud as the time that we were at the carnival with my little brother. My step parents wouldn't give him cotten candy. He was crying so loud the whole park could hear him. The thought fades into my brain. I just stay there laying in my bed looking at my window watching the rain trickle down to the bottom of my window frame. I was not tired, not hungry, just kinda, waiting but I dont know what for. I look at my alarm clock and its only been a few minutes since I last turned my phone off. It's 11:34pm and I watch and wait for it to change to 11:35. Another lightning bolt hits the ground and with the split second of light I notice that I had been too lazy to pull the covers over my nightgown, and somehow I only now realize that it is oh, so very cold in my room but I don't remember it being cold because it is only the beginning of Fall. I look over at the window and there is ice forming quickly on the glass and there is silhouette of a face. My dog, Puchi starts barking again. She is a small little girl but she can put up a fight, like me. The high pitched bark stops at a halt but I don't think much of it and try to go to sleep. I hear a tap against my now frozen over window. I must be dreaming, I must be hallucinating. I feel myself falling into sleep with the tapping sound against the cold dark window drowning out the rain. My eyes shut and I ignore it, but I should not have.
