We are built for change. As any amount of time passes, we are not the same as before. We can become more passionate, kinder than before, wiser. But sometimes, we go the other way. We can become terrifying, vengeful, stronger, faster, and dare I say, dark. One year has passed, and I have certainly changed.

I stand in a dark building, a dozen dead men lie on the floor and one man crawls for his life. I watch him struggle for a moment as he reaches for a gun. He flips onto his back, points the gun at me, and fires. The bullet flies through my flesh setting me back a step. I groan at the hole in my gut, that suddenly closes up.

The man stares with only fear in his eyes. He tries to fire again, but I fade away and appear next to him, kicking  his ribs. He groans at the pain, and I pick him up by the shirt and place him on a chair.

"I am going to ask you a few questions, and you will answer them. If you lie I will know, and you will die. Do you understand?" I say.

He laughs and says "Go fuck yourself!"

I place my hand on his neck, pulling his very life away from his body as he tries to screem. Tries and tries but nothing can come out but the the sound of him choking as his eyes start to loose life. I let go of his neck and he gasps. "Let me ask again. Do you understand?"

The man begins to cry "Y-yes, please. I understand, please don't do it again!" He pleads.

"Where is Jenkins?" I ask.

With tears in his eyes, he says, "If I tell you, h-he'll kill me."

I bring my hand close to his neck again, threatening him, "If you don't tell me, I'll kill you."

"I don't know where he is, b-but Henry Numen knows." He said.

I listen to his thoughts, constant fear, but also truth. "Where can I find him?"

"H-he lives in New Jersey. He runs the Casino De La Riqueza. Y-you'll find him there."

"How many guards?"

"I-I don't know." He says.

I gaze at him for a while as he begins to cry again. "A-are you going to kill me?" He asks.

"I'll be doing you a favor." I say.

"W-why? I've told you everything, I swear."

"I know you have."

"T-then why?"

"Eight years ago. Do you recall anything that you did?" I ask.

"N-no."

I threaten him again with my hand, "Try and think harder!" I demand.

He thought with tears down his checks, "I helped kill the Rhodes family."

"That's right. Now look at me. Do you recognize me?"

He looks me dead in the eyes, "Y-you're Hector. You were dead."

"There you go. See, because of you, my family is dead."

"I-I was j-just following orders."

"That's what they all say. We take actions without realising that we have our own will. Now the past is back to haunt you, Nicholas, and you won't be escaping it." I say.

"P-please." He says.

"You killed my mother, I believe."

"Please!"

"Took a knife to her neck if I'm not mistaken."

"Please!"

"And if I remember correctly, you smiled while doing it." I say as I walk behind him, pulling out my knife.

"I'm sorry!"

I place the knife on his neck, and slide it through and through. "I know you are."

The room was now lifeless. Thirteen dead bodies.

Outside the sirens begin to roar. Blue and red lights dance across the walls. Police bust through the doors to find the sea of death, and I, nowhere to be seen.

[One month Ago]

"I want to know where the mob is," I demand.

Esther looks up from her book to me, "Hector, I know what you're thinking."

"And I know what you're going to say." I respond.

"Look, Hector, I want to avenge your parents as much as you do, but killing is not an option. I know your father wouldn't want it to happen this way."

"You told me everything happens for a reason, now I've been given this power. It seems that the only reason would be to avenge my parents." I say.

"Hector I-"

"You want me to stay innocent and you want to put them in jail and whatever. But that's not going to happen. They faced trial for my parents death as well as mine, yet they got off. They walk down the streets as free men."

"You're head is cloudy, Hector. Anger is a tool, but it should not be constant. I won't give you their locations."

I try to read her thoughts, but all I could hear was, Get out of my head, Hector. "Fine, I'll do it myself!"
