'Honey take care of the bakery, I ll be right back!'
'Alright mum~!'
Erica s voice filled the bakery as her "mother" had walked out of it, leaving the girl alone to clean the floor with the mop while humming soflty.
Few minutes had passed and when she finished she yawned and got up. She then took a look around, there were few people looking around the bakery, moslty they were choosing what to buy but she then had spotted a figure, a medium tall boy with a black cloak. Just then she had realised he was trying to steal two of the finest type of breads the bakery had.
Erica dropped the mop she had used to clean the floor and ran to the boy, pulling him back by the cloak, the hood of it almost fell but the boy managed to catch it in time before revealing his self as he looked back at her, only his cold blue eyes could be seen by now.
'H...Hey-!! What are you doing!'
Erica had hissed out but once the boy just stared without any answer she sighed and looked around for her mother. Realising she was still out she let go of him
'Go...before my mum comes and sees you.'
She had suddenly said and backed away a bit. The boy s terror turned into relief as he gave a little soft smile, or so Erica thougth by how she saw the features.
'Thank you! Could I see you again? I promise to pay you back if I could!'
Erica had paused and looked at the boy for a bit before realising
'I m usually all the day here or I go out for a walk every night when we close the bakery-!'
She had simply explained then calmly smiled.
'That sounds like a plan!'
The boy then had turned around and ran out of the door, happy with the encounter he had. He was about to ask her name but with the rush he had completly forgotten. She then sighed and went back at her work.
...
It was getting dark and Erica had finished her work. Even so her mother actually noticed the two breads missing, thing that drove of reciving a slap, hard enough to leave a violet-pinkish mark on her cheek.
As said it was getting dark, thing that signaled her to head out, without even putting on her shoes. She never wore shoes in reality, just some bandages over her legs to moslty hide the worst part of the burns she had on her legs. The burns would still be visible on her hands too but she never talked about them with anyone.
She rushed out without a word as she started to walk throught he dark empty streets. There would be few people coming back from work but in rest no one. She started to keep her attention up, on the night sky, admiring the stars.
It hadn t passed too long as she heard footsteps coming towards her. When she had moved her attention in the side they were coming from, she saw the boy from today, running to her with a smile on his face. But that smile fastly vanished and his face would fill with concern on how much Erica could see.
'Hey are you okay?'
He had asked worried. Once Erica understood why he was worried he put a hand on her cheek with the slap mark as she smiled calmly
'Yeah don t worry about it!'
The boy sighed and pulled out the coins to pay for the two breads he had "stolen"
'If you say so...well is this enough?'
'Yes, thank you-!'
She had counted them fastly in her mind before taking them from him and putting them in her poket.
