Meanwhile, Jungkook headed to his father's office, taking fast steps forward, his blood still boiling, causing him to clench his fists.

It pained him to leave the luring scent behind, but with every step he took forward, his head became less clouded and his anger cooled down more and more until he realised what just happened.

His steps were getting slower as he was concentrating on how he lost control so quickly, starting to feel more and more disappointed by himself. All of his previous training, teaching him how to manage and use his anger seemed so useless, considering what happened just a few moments ago. He felt like he slipped, and he did not like to make mistakes. In fact, he hated it.

Only then, he started to reflect on the cause for losing his temper. It seemed obvious that the scent was the reason for it, but why would it have such a strong impact on him in the first place?

Without realizing it, he was already standing in front of the open doors to his father's office. He stepped inside the bright, warm-heartedly decorated room and was greeted by his father's big smile.

"Oh good morning, early bird.", teased his father as he noticeably looked up at the clock, which showed that it was clearly not early in the morning.

"Good morning.", responded Jungkook, smiling lightly at the head alpha. Usually, he would have given a witty answer, but he really did not feel very creative at the moment.

His father, on the other hand, was now raising an eyebrow at the absence of his son's humour, leaning back into his office chair.

"What's up with you? You don't seem to be in high spirits today."

The younger plainly shrugged it off. "I just have a few things to think about."

"Well then let me give you a few more." With that, he suddenly sat up straight, his face showing a more earnest expression than before.

"You already heard of our visitor?" Jungkook nodded.

"Good. We questioned him shortly after he woke up. Luckily he was very compliant. Do you still remember the pack of rogues that has been attacked by the half-moon pack about four months ago?"

"The one that wanted to join our pack and got slaughtered because of that decision?", Jungkook replied, gulping at his own words and looking down to the ground. He remembered them very well. The half-moon pack was trying to set an example. It just showed how brutal their methods were.

"Yes, that one. The boy said that he was part of this exact pack and apparently he was captured and one of the only convicts they made. He somehow managed to escape and was fleeing to our territory, seeking help."

Jungkook thought about what his father said for a moment, sitting down on one of the unoccupied chairs that stood beside him. "Do you believe him?"
