IDK what to put for an author's note. :/
DISCLAIMER: You know who belongs to who at this point.
1 week later (I'm writing a letter nightly~)
The training had gotten more and more intense. Every night, the family pushed themselves to the limit. They were easily getting stronger each day.
Despite that, Ghostface was still concerned Spirit. She seemed to be gaining weight, even though her diet hasn't changed. During their workouts, her breath seemed to be more labored than everyone else.
Dagger also never left her side. The two were inseparable.
Then a thought struck Ghostface.
"Hey, uh, Mikey? I have question."
"What is it?" Michael asked, feeling a little uneasy. "Is something wrong?"
"No, nothing's wrong. At least I don't think." Ghostface cleared his throat. "Is Dagger fixed?"
Michael wasn't sure how to respond. "I- no? I don't think he is. Why?"
"Well, You know how Spirit has been gaining weight and Dagger never leaves her side?"
"Yes," Michael said, realization starting to dawn on him. "Is Spirit fixed?"
"No. I was never able to afford to fix her. Besides, whenever she got in heat, she would always just sit down whenever a male tried to mate with her. She never seemed to be the type to want pups."
"Think that changed when she met Dagger?"
"Maybe."
The two former psychopaths looked at the dogs. The two animals looked back. They could tell they were being talked about, but they didn't know what was being said.
"To the vet?" Ghostface asked.
"To the vet," Michael agreed.
"Let's go," Ghostface said, grabbing his car keys.
Hearing the jingle of the keys made Spirit's ears perked and she ran to the door as fast as her legs could carry her. Dagger immediately went after her. The two of them looked back at their owners expectantly.
"Okay, okay! Calm down you two!" Ghostface laughed as he opened the door. The two dogs immediately bolted outside.
"And where you two going?" Laurie asked.
"We're going to the vet, Mom," Michael said, jokingly.
Laurie laughed, but then she realized what Michael said. "Is something wrong?"
"Nothing's ... wrong, per say. We just think that Spirit might be pregnant. We're just going to confirm it," Michael said.
"I see," Laurie said. "Well, don't let me stop you. And let me know the results."
"Of course."
"Come on, guys!" Ghostface shouted, giving his hands a clap. The dogs ran up to him, tails wagging. They LOVED a good car ride. Ghostface opened the door to the back seat. Dagger jumped in. Spirit just climbed.
Ghostface got in the driver's seat while Michael got in the passengers. Then they drove off.
"Did I hear that right?" Jamie asked her mom the second they disappeared around the corner. "Spirit might be having puppies?"
"She might be. We'll just have to wait and see."
"If she is, can I have one of them?" Jamie asked.
