The X-Factor

"So this Bitch thinks its cool to just come up and start flirting with him? While I'm standing right there?! Like, who the hell are you?! And then she has the nerve to start talking to me?! GAHH! I am going to scratch her fucking face off!" I was in the middle of angrily ranting to my bestfriend, Louis, about some slut at school. I love Louis! He's like my gay bestfriend.. without the gay. Lol I'm dumb. Like he wouldn't dare make a move on me. For one, he thinks I'm crazy, which he's probably right about, and he just wouldn't. We're bestfriends. Nothing more, nothing less. Lou's my Sass Masta from Doncasta! (A/N: right now is before the X-Factor. June-ish, 2 months before.) "AND, she has her own boy toy to hang off! UGH! I hate sluts!" I continued my ranting while we were sitting on my bed in room, him trying to keep me from darting out the door to beat that slut's face in. When I eased up and stopped fighting his hold, he loosened his grasp on my arms. I grabbed a pillow and screamed into it, my scream hardly quieter than it would be without the pillow there. I took the pillow from my face and smiled over at Louis. That's all I needed. He smiled back and layed down next to me. He started singing softly. I couldn't decipher what it was but I turned towards him in awe. "Louu! Audition for X-Factor! It's in 2 months and you could definitely make it all the way!" I told him.

He just stared at me like I was crazy. Then he reached over and touched my forehead, "Elouise, are you sick?" He said real slow, looking into my caramel brown eyes the entire time to make sure I wasn't lying.

"Uhm, no..?" I was slightly confused by this question. "I'm being serious!" I said.

He looked at me all weird before saying, "Guurl, you cray cray!" I couldn't help but laugh at his weirdness. That's Louis for ya.

"But really, you're already 18; you're not gonna miss any school! I will miss you but I know we'd keep in touch! You have tooo!" I was practically begging at this point.

He let out a sigh of defeat, "I guess you're right. You better vote for me!" He said shaking and pointing a finger at me, almost touching my nose each time.

"Yes, Father.." I said, sitting up straight, cris-cross applesauce, hands in the middle. (A/N: kindergarten! lawls!) he looked at me funny before laughing. It wasn't long after he started ROFLing that I joined in.

~*~*~*~*~

It's August now, I'm helping Louis pack for his audition, trying to hold back tears in the process. He was just packing clothes and keep-sakes for now. We'd gotten up super early so we could drive the 3 hours to Fountain Studios, London.

It's about 3:30 am now, "We better get going if you wanna be there on time.." I said- rather asked. My hot pink toes have suddenly become interesting.. Who am I kidding? I just don't want Lou to go. I don't know what I'm gonna do with out him. I let out a prolonged sigh as tears started welling up in my eyes.

Louis put a finger under my chin, forcing me to look at him. He saw my flushed face and brought me in for a bone crushing hug I rested my head in the crook of his neck and scrunched my eyes to prevent any tears from escaping, "It's gonna be ok, Babes." He sounded like he was trying to convince himself as well as myself.

I sniffled and pulled away, holding my head high, determined to be strong for Lou. I slipped in my TOM's wedges before taking his hand in mine and pulling him along, "Come on Boo, you're gonna be late." I chuckled at my word play and sang what the White Rabbit in Alice in Wonderland sings, "We're late, we're late! For a very important date!"

Louis chuckled at my silliness before picking up his suitcase. We walked out to my small sports car. He silently shoved his suitcase into the trunk of my red Mazda Rx-8. As he did so, I slipped into the drivers seat, getting comfortable. I turned the AC and radio up as Louis sat in the passenger seat, hesitantly strapping himself in.

(3 HOURS LATER)

Louis was still sitting in my car, he was nervously biting his lip. But I couldn't really blame him. I wouldn't be able to do it. I sat staring at him. Him deep in thought; just staring out in space. "Whatcha thinkin' 'bout?" Curiosity got the best of me.

His head snapped up at the sound of my voice, "Stuff. What if's." he replied, sighing loudly.

I took his hand in mine and soothingly rubbed his with my thumb, "You'll be fine, Lou!" I said, "Come on, let's go!" I cheered, silently dying on the inside as it hit me; my bestfriend is leaving me for I-don't-know how long. We managed to get in the building before the water works started. A gushing waterfall coming from my face, I ran to Louis, which wasn't very far.

He held me tight and shushed me, cooing things like "it's gonna be alright" and "we'll keep in contact, it'll be like I never left!"

"Contestant 155204 to the stage in 10 minutes." A monotonous voice sounded from the intercoms overhead. I pulled away from Louis to check his number. Sure enough, the one called was his.

I looked up at him with a tear streaked face. He handed my a Kleenex, "Clean up your face, Doll, you look like a clown," he winked, "go find a seat!" He said shooing me off towards the restrooms. (A/N: keep in mind, I've never watched the X-Factor so this is all probably wrong. Oh well. You'll survive.) I rushed into the bathroom to find my mascara and eyeliner had run down my face and I did, indeed, look like a clown. I began hastily removing the smudged and run down make up before applying new. I checked myself once in the mirror fixing my white low cut shirt, adjusting my purposely ripped jean shorts, heading out the door and into the audience to find my seat.

I found my seat, smack-dab in the middle of the section in the very front reserved for the closely-related only. I sat down next to this really, really cute guy. He watched my every move as I sat down. He continued staring at me, making me feel very uncomfortable, I started squirming in my seat. Then Louis walked out on stage, all went silent as he began singing Hey There Delilah. He has such a good voice, if Simon doesn't let him through, I will probably choke him.. I'm sorry, that was a bit violent. Eh, he'll live, right? It's all goood.

The judges stopped him not too far into it. He got three yeses! I couldn't help but stand up and scream! And scream I did! I'm pretty sure I blew ear drums! Oh well!

That cute guy probably thought I was crazy as I ran to go backstage and tackle Louis in a hug, "Lou! That was great! I'm so happy for you!" I squeaked.

He hugged me back just as tightly, "Thanks, Ellie!" He muttered in my hair. Even with my 5 inch wedges, he was still way taller than I.

"Come on!" I said, "We're gonna celebrate!" I took his hand and led him out the door to my car. Once seated, I dug my iPhone 4S with a keyboard attachment out of my purse to look for cheap, luxurious hotels. Upon finding one, I started looking for clubs around the area. "Found one!" I exclaimed to a confused Louis, "We're going clubbing!" I said in a sing-song voice.
