Friday went along in a blur. It was Friday, everyone was happy to have two days off from hell. Elsa was at her locker, waiting for Anna and Jack to show up. Hiccup and Astrid surprised her by getting there first.

"You know you should just tell him, right?" Astrid got straight to the point, as always.

Elsa lied as calmly as possible. "There's nothing to tell."

Hiccup rolled his eyes and was about to say something, but Anna's perkiness cut him off. "Are we waiting on Jack?"

"Yes. Please tell Elsie that she needs to be big girl and tell him how she feels already."

"I don't feel anything for him!" Elsa protested.

"Well, we pretty much already did it for you, but he didn't believe us." Astrid said.

"What did you tell him?" She shook her head, exasperated by her friends. "Wait, nevermind, I don't care."

Anna could see through that blockade in a heartbeat, her sister's frozen heart was melting away because of him. Anyone with half a brain could tell, which meant Jack couldn't. "Just get it over with. He's not going to say no."

"What? Why is this even a conversation?" Elsa looked around the nearly empty hallway. "We should really get going. What's taking him so long?"

"His locker is probably exploding again." Hiccup remarked. "I'll go get him and meet you back here." He kissed Astrid on the cheek then ventured through the halls until he got to Jack's locker. Sure enough, papers were everywhere. "Need some help?"

The brunet's head jerked up. "Wha--oh. I can't find the rubric for the children's book...Elsa's going to kill me."

Hiccup thought he could actually sense the fear radiating off of Jack. "No she won't," he scoffed. "Elsa would never intentionally hurt someone." He helped pick up some of the papers. "I have extra rubrics, now let's go."

"But--" He silenced Jack with a glare. "Fine, let's go then." The two boys crammed papers and binders back into Jack's locker then were off to where everyone was waiting by Elsa's locker.

"About time," Elsa sighed.

Astrid's phone buzzed, a text from her mom. "Hey," she looked at Hiccup, "sorry but I gotta go, Mom's waiting for me outside."

"We can walk you out." Elsa suggested.

As they walked down the corridor that lead to the main entrance to the school, Hiccup took Astrid's hand in his. "What's wrong? You seem tense." He observed.

Astrid shook her head, "I don't know, Mom said it was urgent. I'm sure she just lost the dog again or something..." He knew she didn't feel as confident as she pretended to be. He gave Astrid a kiss on her cheek before she got in her mom's silver Camry. "I'll call you tomorrow."

"Sounds good." He smiled, staring at the car as it drove away. There was something wrong with the way Astrid was acting.

"Hey lover-boy!" Anna shouted to get his attention, "Let's go!" She could never be patient for just five simple seconds.

"I'm coming, I'm coming."

Emma was waiting for them at Elsa's pale blue Mazda. "What took you guys to so long," The eighth grader complained.

Elsa rolled her eyes, "Ask your brother."

Emma sighed knowingly, "Jackson, did your locker explode again?"

"Why does everyone keep asking that?"

Elsa unlocked the car, everyone getting in. Anna called shotgun and hopped in the front passenger seat. Hiccup sat behind Elsa and Jack behind Anna, leaving Emma to be squished in the middle of the two older teenage boys.  She started the car and drove out of the nearly empty parking lot. "Because you're a sloppy mess Jack."

They all laughed, with the exception of Jack, because of how true it was.

"Ha ha." He laughed as sarcastically as possible.

When their giggling died down, Anna gasped, "I love this song!"

Elsa listened intently for a moment, before her face filled with recognition. She grinned, blasting the volume, and singing along. Emma and Anna joined in.

"I'm not gonna write you a love song, 'cause you asked for it, 'cause you need one. You see, I'm not gonna write you a love song, 'cause you tell me it's make or breakin' this, 'cause you're on your way. I'm not gonna write you to stay. If all you have is leavin', ima' a better reason to write you a love song today."

As the girls continued to belt away, Hiccup hummed along, and Jack couldn't help but smile. He hadn't seen them this careless in a long time. And by them, he meant Elsa. Anna and his sister were always goofing off--even Hiccup had his moments--but seeing Elsa let go was such a rarity.

The song ended and another played, the mood following. Halfway through "Shake it off" they were pulling into the Arendelles' driveway.

"Welcome back yo our not-so-humble abode," Anna
