The Envy

It was another cool fall day at U.A. classes went on as normal and then the students returned to their dorms. Todoroki walked through the halls by his room and saw a familiar face standing at his door.

"Hey Midoriya" Todoroki said with a slight smile.
"Hey" Midoriya smiled back, "I just came for our study session, if you're still up for it."

Todoroki smiled and opened his door as the two walked in. They opened their textbooks and began their homework, it was an extensively long paper that Mic had assigned.

"Todoroki?" Midoriya asked quietly.
"Hmm?" Todoroki responded
"Well, I was just wondering, will I ever get to meet your mom?" Todoroki looked up surprised by the question.
"I-I mean... sorry if that was unexpected. W-We've just been dating for over a year now and I haven't met her yet." Midoriya struggled to get out.
"Umm, uh. I haven't actually come out to her yet." Todoroki looked down ashamed, "I'm not nervous or anything she's just so fragile. I'm not sure how she'd take it."
"I understand. It's okay. Take me when you're ready!" Midoriya tried to give him a reassuring smile.
"I definitely will one day." Todoroki assured him back.
The two continued their papers and around 8:00 PM they were interrupted by loud banging on the door. Todoroki got up to answer and investigate what was so urgent.
He opened the door to see Uraraka standing there looking frantic.
"YOU GUYS!! YOU HAVE TO COME WATCH THE NEWS DOWNSTAIRS RIGHT NOW!!" She yelled panting from running up the stairs to the boys hall.
Midoriya and Todoroki followed her back to the common room, where all of the students were clustered by the TV watching a news report.

"Breaking News: A new group of villains has been identified. They call themselves "Envy" and they claim to be after none other than our new number one hero Endeavor. While they have not made a serious attempt after Endeavor, they have destroyed big parts of the city and have murdered countless civilians. Their motives are unclear at this time." A frantic news caster reported.

Everyone in the room looked over at Todoroki at the mentioning of his fathers name. Todoroki was frozen in place, unsure of how to react. Endeavor was his father, an abusive, selfish, man. But he had also been working to regain his children's respect, and he hadn't been doing a terrible job at it. He even paid their mother, Reí, a visit. While he didn't go completely into the hospital, he left her, her favorite flowers. That at least said something, and his mom had been hopeful their father was turning over a new leaf. Todoroki still resented him, but no where near as much as two years ago. He had really stepped up as number one hero.

"Todoroki are you alright?" Uraraka questioned.
Todoroki snapped out of his inner thoughts and looked up at her, "Yeah, I'm okay. Whatever their up to, I'm sure my dad can handle it." He nodded and began to walk upstairs, Midoriya trailing behind him.
"Shoto. You didn't sound okay back there, is your anxiety spiking?" Midoriya asked shyly, knowing this was a sensitive subject for Todoroki.
"I'm okay right now." Todoroki told him sternly. Midoriya didn't completely believe him but decided that with his tone of voice it was best to leave it alone. The boyfriends bid each other goodnight and went their separate ways for bed after Midoriya had retrieved his backpack and homework from Todoroki's room. Normally, Todoroki would've asked Midoriya to spend the night, but tonight Todoroki was feeling off and really wanted to be alone. He kissed Midoriya on his way out and fell asleep moments after he got ready for bed. Tomorrow was Friday, and then the weekend was upon them and Todoroki could relax.

Todoroki was typically the first one up, after Bakugou of course. No one was ever up before Bakugou was. The two evaded any sort of socialization while they made their breakfast in the kitchen, until Bakugou spoke up.
