Kageyama Tobio was training with his fellow team members of Karasuno, at seven 'o' clock.

As they trained hard, putting all their effort into it, the rain of November hit the pathways of the outside, dampening it and creating puddles which reflected the starry night sky.

As the thump of a volleyball hitting the ground sounded, Daichi Sawamura's deep voice was heard.

"Alright guys! We need to start packing up and heading to our homes now. I heard there's lightning starting today."

"Huh, really?"

"Mmhmm. Well the weatherman said so anyway."

"B-but I'm not tired yet and I want to do more training-"

"No Hinata. You have to ride of the mountains."

"Okay, fine."

As the team shuffled about the gymnasium, someone's ringtone began to sound.

They all looked over to Kageyama, knowing it was his. He put this rather unique song as his ringtone.

He jogged over to his bag where his phone vibrated. Feeling about his bag, he found it. Removing it, his eyes looked over the screen and the contact appeared before his eyes-

'Y/N 💕'

-it read. A light blush dusted his cheeks as a bright light flashed outside, followed by a rumble. His finger pressed the green button as he walked somewhere in the gymnasium where no one else was.

"Hey Kageyama! What're you doing?" Hinata shouted over at him.

"Taking a call dumbass. What does it look like I'm doing." Kageyama remarked. His phone immediately went to his ear when he heard a soft, timid voice on the other side.

"T-Tobio..."

"Y/N! I wasn't talking to you then by the way. Just some idiot on my team." Kageyama assured, his voice softer than usual. Y/N L/N was his girlfriend and due to her adorable, shy behaviour, he always had a soft spot for her.

"R-right...I figured." She chuckled.

"Anyways, something wrong?"

"Y-yes actually- EEK!"

He heard the rumble of the thunder on the other side of the phone. He knew excatly what was going on here. Smiling softly, he began to talk again.

"I see. You're afraid of lightning aren't you? I totally forgot."

"Y-yeah. Could you c-come home please? I-I'm scared and I don't excatly w-want to be under the bed for the r-rest of the n-EEK!"

"You're under...the bed?"

"It was the first p-place that came to mind."

"You're so adorable."

"H-huh?"

"I'll be home in a sec. My team just finished packing everything away."

"Thank you! Oh wait...d-doesn't that mean I stopped you f-from helping? I'm so sorry Tobio!"

"No its fine."

"Okay good. P-please come home as quick as possible. I love y-you."

"Love you too."

Another squeak was heard before he hung up. He turned around to see the majority of his teammates smirking at him. His face was flushed once again.

"W-what're you all staring at?" He huffed.

"Oh nothing. Its just that I heard a feminine voice on the other side."

"Yeah, who's the lucky girl?"

"Tell us the details Kageyama!"

"Are we going to see her...ever?"

"Is she gorgeous like Kiyoko?"

Kageyama grunted and pushed past his teammates.

"For your information, she is prettier than Kiyoko and yes, its my girlfriend. Now goodbye." Kageyama grumbled, shutting the door behind him.

He began to run down the pathways, keeping out of open areas and not caring about the rain which was soaking his clothing.

After about five minutes, he reached the house that him and Y/N shared. Unlocking the door that she had supposedly locked out of fear, he ran through, shook off his shoes and ran up the stairs.

He heard a squeal and a creak as he opened the door to his and Y/N's shared bedroom.

"Its just me Y/N." He said.

Kageyama walked into the room and peered under the bed to see Y/N there, teary-eyed and trembling. He chuckled and held out a hand for her to grab. She did and he pulled her from under the bed, softly yanking her up.

"You okay?"

"Mm mm." She answered, shaking her head slightly. This translated into 'no' in Y/N's language - which Kageyama understood.

Another flash went off and the timid girl latched onto Kageyama's shirt, dampening it with her tears. He was surprised at first but relaxed and slithered his arms around her.

He stroked her hair, whispering sweet, reassuring words and phrases into her ear. He always did this, he had to. Y/N was a shy girl who got not only scared easily, but stressed and anxious as well, and Kageyama was the only one who had the abilities to calm her down.

Her sobs continued as Kageyama sat down on their bed, pulling her beside him. She laid down on his chest and intertwined her fingers with his.

Eventually, the weather calmed down- turning into the calm night sky -and Y/N's sobs also calmed down. Kageyama peered down at her face. She looked more at peace now.

"You okay now?"

"Mmhmm."

"Good. I still can't get over how much you're actually afraid of lightning. Do you have Astraph...Astraphobi...phobia or something?"

"Y-yeah I do actually have astraphobia. Ever since I was little. I developed it when I was out with m-my mother, sister and father. We didn't realise that lightning was c-coming today so we were walking i-in the open and...they g-got struck by lightning and...didn't survive, so I've been scared every since."

"Wow...I never knew that. I'm sorry uh-"

"W-well now you do! Its fine anyways. I was about five then and can't remember much about them. I know it sounds kind of stupid but-"

"It doesn't sound stupid at all. Its just another ph..."

"Phobia?"

"Phobia story."

"I'm c-curious as to how you actually know the word ph-phobia and astraphobia. I-It's not to be mean its just that you aren't that g-good at academics and-"

"Its fine. I know I'm not good at academics. And I know phobia and astraphobia because we were learning about phobias."

"Ah okay."

"It was dumb."

"I-I'm pretty sure you find anything academically related dumb."

"You're not wrong."

Y/N smiled at her boyfriends behaviour and shuffled about to get comfortable. Kageyama kissed her head, causing Y/N's face to flush.

"G-goodnight Tobio."

"Night Y/N."
