Jaden watched as the green painting slowly moved down the wall to close over the gap. He raised an eyebrow before going over to it.
“Weird how it just went down like that...” Alexis murmured.
“I agree.” Jaden nodded, but he had a funny feeling that it was Yusei’s doing. He didn’t say, though.
Jaden watched as the painting blinked and blinked. He wouldn’t get across it this way.
“Hey...uh, is it okay to cross?”
The painting glared at him for a moment before closing its eyes.
“I guess that means yes.” Alexis sighed.
Jaden hesitantly walked across the painting, gesturing that it was safe enough for Alexis to cross.
Once the two were both across, Jaden looked at a triangular block. Something just clicked inside of him, and he knew he had to do something with the block.
So he pushed it off the edge and into the hole.
Alexis looked at him as if he was crazy, but Jaden just gave a small wink, “I know what I’m doing!” He exclaimed.
“Dear God I hope you do...” Alexis murmured.
The brunette grinned happily, leading the way out of the room. Jaden walked right into a brown corridor, small purple lights slowly illuminating the way. He did admit to himself, it was a bit creepy, but he kept walking anyway.
After turning the corner, Alexis suddenly stopped. Jaden turned around to look at her.
“Hey, Jaden...can I ask you something?”
“Shoot.”
“Is Yusei...your brother?”
“Nope!”
“So...your brother is somebody else...” Alexis murmured.
Jaden watched as Alexis looked down, “...Everyone’s really nice...right?”
“Not when they’re mad!” Jaden joked.
“Ahaha, yeah. We will see our friends soon, right?”
Jaden nodded, and began to turn around when Alexis suddenly grabbed his shoulder. He froze.
“Hey, Jaden, uh...If only two of us could get out of here...then what?”
“Uh...well...”
Jaden looked down for a moment and thought long and hard. If only two could escape, then...then...
“I’d sacrifice myself.” Jaden spoke.
“What? Really, Jaden? But then you’d never see your friends again!”
Jaden just nodded. If he was being completely honest with himself...he didn’t want to be alone in this godforsaken place. But if only two could escape...he would surrender himself and let Alexis and Yusei go. It was for the best.
“...It would be really lonely, you know...? Don’t say things like that...We’ll leave together! I promise!”
Jaden shrugged Alexis’ hand off of his shoulder and started walking again. He didn’t want to discuss this topic further. He couldn’t bare it.
He walked into a large, brown room, with Alexis close behind. He saw that there was some red gas on the other side of the room, and he instantly walked over to it. When he got close, however, his rose began to wilt.
Jaden coughed and looked down at his rose.
“Jaden...we shouldn’t go there right now...” Alexis murmured.
