The Seawing's webbed talons pulled the large dragon up, their tail thrashing back and forth, trying to reach the surface. The current was against them, but they knew they could do it with enough effort. The dragon gazed up. They could see the surface. Just a little bit more...
A higher pitched, female voice called out to them. "Come on! We don't have much time!" The voice yelled. The seawing picked up their speed, and dragged themselves onto the shore. "Are you ok?!" The female asked. "I'm fine, now we need to keep going."A pale Sandwing trudged along the desert, having now lost all sense of direction. "I knew they didn't like me. I knew it from the start. Yet they hid it from me..." They seemed furious, but tried to not release it. "All because I didn't swear loyalty! Which I never will! I'll be a loner for all I care!" The pale dragon continued on in a random direction, only occasionally stopping to either calm down or to inspect something they found interesting. Much time had passed since they last left, but they rarely acknowledged the thought.
A purple NightWing sat alone on a cliff on the volcano. They sighed, looking out at the sky. Everyone else was asleep, but they couldn't sleep. It bothered them too much. The nagging thoughts at the back of their mind. The ones telling them it was all their fault. The ones telling them that none of this would've happened if they just hadn't have done it. Yet it was already done, and they knew there was absolutely no turning back now. They couldn't turn them self in, either, or else they knew it would be death for them. After a few moments of thinking, it had been decided. I need to leave. They flapped their starry wings and flew. They didn't know where they were going, but they flew, and they kept flying, until the volcano was no longer in sight.
A Rainwing whose scales were covered in gray sat alone at the edge of the rainforest. Their normally beautiful scales were now dull. I really am an outcast, huh? Is this what it's like? To be abandoned? Left? Not loved..? The Rainwing thought silently then shook their head. No! It wasn't my fault! I couldn't help this! I was born this way! They shouldn't reject me due to something I can't help! The Rainwing Stood up, glancing back at the place where they were merely a few hours ago. They turned back to where they were looking, and began walking. The sound of approaching talons made them quicken their pace, eventually breaking out into a run. The world around them became a blur, letting their legs carry them. They ran until they could no longer run, then collapsed onto the ground.
Fire formed at the red dragon's mouth. "I-I didn't mean to!" "Well you are going to pay! You don't lead another tribe into our land!" A larger, scarier dragon growled. "Now go! I never want to see you again, traitor!" The smaller SkyWing flapped their wings and took off, swiftly gaining speed. They didn't dare to look back. That could be their death and they knew it. I didn't mean to... they thought, their wings still gliding swiftly with the wind. They continued flying and noticed they were going towards the ground, so they flapped a few times and went up some more, and continued on. This continued for multiple hours, the changes of the land passing by like seasons. The Skywing neared a forest and began looking around, letting down their guard. Next thing they knew they were trying to stop as to not hit some trees. They dodged them, and sighed in relief. They felt their back talons crashing into another tree, then the rest of their body. They fell to the ground, and everything went black.
A larger Mudwing was carrying another Mudwing, except it was a dragonet. They had decided that for the best of their mental health and tribe, they were now becoming explorers. The dragonet had no clue of what was going on, but that was due to them being too young. They continued on, looking at anything they found interesting. They chatted, laughed, and just had fun as they walked along. Just them, nobody else. Nobody to bother them or disturb their time of happiness. The larger Mudwing tried to explain why they were leaving, but the dragonet only understood it as an adventure. The larger of the duo laughed. "We can go with that, if it makes you happy." The dragonet giggled and said "Adventure!" which made the older laugh. They knew not of what lay ahead though. They were unaware of the calm before the storm.
