Helbram had been kidnapped and tortured by humans, and was forced to watch as his friend's wings were slowly torn off. After the war ended and he met back up with Harlequin (I know he dies in canon, but this is sort of an alternate universe/what if type thing) once in a while he'll have nightmares about what had happened. Harlequin would, of course, always comfort him if he ever woke up screaming.
One day, whenever everyone was hanging out in the tavern, someone came over to Helbram and touched his wings on accident. They were extremely lucky that Harlequin was right there, otherwise that person would have either been beat to a bloody pulp, or picked up by Helbram and thrown out of the tavern. Harlequin ended up telling the person to never touch Helbram's wings, because ever since he had been tortured, he's had PTSD from it, and absolutely hates it whenever anyone else besides Harlequin touches his wings.
