Hours had passed when we re-enter the estate. After going all the way to my new school, Birmingham Elite, and enrolling, we got a campus tour and I felt eyes on me, and whispers surrounding me as we walked through the massive school. I tried to ignore them which was pretty hard considering it felt like I was in the spotlight.

Thankfully by the time we finished, it was lunch, so we went into the city centre to eat. Max then forced me to go shopping for clothes as a replacement until mine came from America. Of course I loved the distraction of going through store after store and trying on all kinds of clothes and accessories, but when it came to swiping Max's Amex black card I couldn't bring myself to tap the card on top of the machine. I hate the thought of owing stuff to people and even though this is just clothing it's still something that ties me to him. So, I had pulled out my credit card with a small amount of savings inside and bought the clothes myself. When I walked out of the mall a small bookstore caught my attention, and of course I had no control, so I ventured in and came out with a stack of new releases and second-hand books. The perfect distraction since Xander won't let me anywhere near his, and my books are still in my room back home.

So, by the time we got back I was exhausted.

I'm lying on my bed, watching the sunset. Bright orange and pink rays spread across the sky like beautiful artwork. It's cleansing watching the day turn to night, and soon the clock will reset and a new day will come. The idea fascinates me that with a new day comes new issues and perils, just like today and soon tomorrow.

I try to clear my brain as I lay here but it keeps going back to him, my current peril and issue.

Once we got back, I'd made my way inside and when I walked past the living room I saw him. Xander sat there on the couch with a girl straddling his lap, sucking at his neck. He glanced over his shoulder and locked eyes with me. Wearing the same scowl he greeted me with this morning, his eyes burned my flesh with his dark gaze as he looked me up and down.

I couldn't move. I just stood there stunned as the oblivious girl kept grinding against his cock whilst he sat watching me. But the spell between us was broken when something snapped in his eyes, and then he turned back to the brunette and I was forgotten. I felt so conflicted, I wanted to rip the girl off his lap, but at the same time I wanted to kick him in the balls for the way he spoke to me earlier.

"Ahh," I scream into the pillow, annoyed that my brain keeps going back to him. I need to get him out of my head!

I thought I was safe once I managed to slip past Xander and his fling, I sprinted up the stairs trying to get away from the scene downstairs, but I was exhausted by the third floor, so I slowed down. Sadly, for me, my ears picked up grunting moans and high-pitched squeals. I heard Grayson's voice and instantly gagged, "Aria, baby, wanna join?" That freaking pig, I saw him through the small gap in his door to my left, and he stared straight at me just like last night, whilst he fucked a girl from behind. This asshole better watch out before I kick him in the dick. I swear, this better not be a daily thing or I'm going to have to pull my eyes out and stuff my ears with cotton buds.

Letting out a huff as I ascended the stairs up to the top floor. I needed to get away from his perverted stares. I needed to get Xander out of my head, I just needed to get away from the past twelve hours.

I quickly raced up the stairs and escaped into my room. I walked over to the nightstand and pulled out Mama's gift. I ran my fingers over the tree and quotes, and when I opened the book I was pulled straight in and got lost in the romance between Darcy and Elizabeth. It was my escape from my reality.

Which leads to me right now, lying on my bed and watching the sky darken with every passing minute. A gentle knock against the door breaks my thoughts. My mind instantly jumps to the thought that it might be Xander or even Grayson, oh Lordy.
