“Fairy tales were not my escape from reality as a child; rather, they were my reality -- for mine was a world in which good and evil were not abstract concepts, and like fairy-tale heroines, no magic would save me unless I had the wit and heart and courage to use it widely.”
― Terri Windling
Chapter 1 - A Dream
I was dancing in a fine ballroom. Like where princessess celebrate their birthdays. They talk, laugh, show people how wonderful their dresses are and they would dance to their hearts content. I was alone in the center of the ballroom just dancing with a baby pink colored dress that just ran down until my knees. The spotlight was just on me, when suddenly a man appeared maybe a head taller than me took my hand, he was on a dark black suite but I could never see his face it was just a blank face that took my hand when I heard the man say "BEEP BEEP BEEP!" that woke me up. . .
"Uggh" I groaned like an ogre. I checked the time when. . . "CRAP!" I yelled, yeap I was late again. As I tripped over the floor I hurriedly washed my face changed and brushed my teeth. I left my room immediately. Yea I know I never had the time to check myself on the mirror. "Bye mom! Bye dad!, Im off!" I yelled when i rushed through the stairs. "HONEY---" before she could finish her sentence, I already shut the door. As I sprinted down the terrace I had a feeling that was going to be fun. I never really liked school, but for the sake of taking college I was determined to finish highschool. I was 17 what can I say, I was one of the unsocial kids but had friends anyways. "MIIIIIAAA" I heard a familiar voice screaming from the corridor. "Hey Lily" I said to my bestfriend "Ready for class?" I groaned its not like I hated learning or anything but my brain has too much problem to take in more math. Don't get me wrong I loved math well I wasnt a nerd but I still kinda liked it. The bell rang and I slumped in my chair took my textbook and suddenly day dreamed. If I were a princess wouldn't it be a better life than this commoners life? would it? I asked myself over and over again endless possibilities on the food I would eat. I wasn't fat, I was slim and slender I don't know why but I loved food but never grew fat. "RRRIINGG" the bell rang. The day was uneventful it was already last period and was ready for my part time. College here I come!
STRANGER'S POV
"We found her sir" I heard the man from the other line said. Finally I found you. . .
