Namjoon's POV:

After attending an injured Hybrid child, I felt relief in knowing that it was no longer in danger, or in any pain. Seeing any Hybrid in pain breaks my heart, because they suffer from several complications.

At least, most of them do when they're growing up as kids. Jin told me many stories of his struggles as a little boy. He would often be teased in school as well as other normal kids who would pick on Hybrids like him, pulling at their tail or ears.

I find that so upsetting. But thankfully, since being born a Hybrid is so common nowadays, normal kids are highly educated on what Hybrids are and treat them with kindness and care.

Every time I work on one of these special Hybrids, I feel accomplished as a vet when I'm able to fix their issues. Luckily, the issue I left Jin at home with, isn't something out of the norm. Every Hybrid gets their first heat when they turn 18 years old, so Jin should be fine on his own, because he's older now.

I bet that he's asleep now, or watching TV on the couch. Good thing I hid those candies away from him... I recently discovered that giving a Hybrid in heat candy, or if the Hybrid consumes even the most minimum amount of sugar, it could harm them.

Their heat will only get worse, because of how hyper they'll be after eating too much candy, and it could even cause them their own death if being left with heat for more than a day.

Jeez, so many complications. It's often worrisome for me.

"Oh, but my Seokjinnie is smart. He'll be perfectly fine. Who knows, maybe he even managed to get rid of the heat on his own for once." The road was clear, giving me the opportunity to get home earlier than I expected to. Thankfully, the animal clinic I work at is nearby, or else I would've taken awhile to get back home.

Third Person's POV:

Unfortunately, Namjoon never made it home at the time he thought he would have arrived due to an unexpected traffic that he had to face when making a wrong turn. He knew that he shouldn't have taken a different route, but he trusted his instincts and did it anyways.

By now, he would take another hour to get back home, and to make matters worse, Jin wasn't answering any of his calls.

"Maybe he just fell asleep on the couch. Or he could always be showering. I'll wait for him to call me back or something... But I'm starting to suspect something isn't right." He placed his phone down, waiting for the streetlight in front of him to turn green.

What the man thought was going to last a few minutes only, ended up turning into a full hour. So, he had already lost nearly two hours in getting back home, and during each passing hour, Jin hadn't responded a single one of his text messages or calls.

~~~
A loud whistle echoed throughout the oddly silent apartment, from the moment Namjoon entered it, doing his famous whistle that he uses to adorably greet his sweet fox when he gets home.
To his surprise, the TV was off, the shower wasn't running, and there was not a peep to be heard from Jin, who is naturally a very loud and energetic foxy, who never fails to greet his kind master.
"Jinnie!! I'm home. Oh, you wouldn't believe the amount of traffic I... Jin?" The further Namjoon made it into the apartment, the stranger the ambient grew. It was far too quiet for his liking.
He was used to Jin's loud squeaks, or simple greetings whenever he would make it home.
His lover never was shy. He's always been energetic. This worried Namjoon enough already, but what increased his worry, was when he looked up and found something was out of order in his kitchen.
In specific, one of the cabinets were wide open. From the moment he took a simple glance at the black wooden door, Namjoon knew immediately what he had stored inside of that large cabinet.
"JIN!! I TOLD YOU NO MORE SWEETS, HOW DID YOU EVEN GET UP THERE?"
No response. Namjoon groaned at the silence. "Jin, just admit it. I'm not mad, I just need to know how many of those you ate." and
He took it upon himself to walk towards their bedroom, to see if Jin was asleep.
But what he found instead was shocking to the man.
The fox was lying on his side, halfway unconscious with tears dripping to the sides of his temples, reaching his ears.
"H...help... Me..."
