A/N: Hey this is Zed :) This is the first poem I've written, so it may not be the most amazing thing you've ever read :P Anyways, this is a poem I wrote from the POV of Victor Van Dort, a few years after the events of the Corpse Bride.

DISCLAIMER: I do not own the film Corpse Bride, all the rights belong to Tim Burton and the owners of the film.

Why?

Why did she go?

Why did she fly?

Leave with the wings of a butterfly?

I loved her dear, I loved her so,

But when the shadows come and go,

I know that I must move along,

But I can't forget her lovely song.

Nothing could fill that space in my heart

That I have grown as we've been apart.

I know I shouldn't be mad.

I should be glad.

I saved her from her fate to be,

Lying under that old oak tree.

Season to season, year to year,

Hoping her true love would venture near.

Still I wish, with each passing day,

That she could've been mine, that she would have stayed.

She is nothing more than a strong memory,

My very special friend,

Miss Emily.
