I was different.
I never fit in.
Everywhere was too good for me.
Why? You might ask.
Well, it's because I was different.
With my sky blue hair and electric blue eyes, I stood out from everyone.
Everyone was normal.
Whereas I, I was merely the dust. Kicked under the rug and forgotten.
I am the forgotten one, the worthless penny, and the ignored wounded dog.
As I walk to school today, there isn't a single bone in my body that is stable. I am shaking uncontrollably. Not because of the lack of breakfast due to my normal brother taking it all and mom watching like it wasn't her business. I'm shaking because I have no idea what is in store for me the moment I enter the building.
I see the building from a distance. I gulp and make my way over there.
As soon as I'm in, the sight of Tyson Hall and his girlfriend, Veronica Hamp, (both of them being my customized bullies since kindergarten), greets me.
"Oh, look what the cat dragged in." I hear her say.
"Little bitch is here." He taunted.
I look down in shame and pull my hoodie down to cover my face more. I internally mock myself for my inability to stand up for myself.
But what can I do? I'm the outcast. I am non-existent. I can shout and scream all day, but of what use would that be. I will be ignored, swept away and washed down like I never existed.
To be honest, I never did. I was always a shadow that lurks around in a corner. Following orders, like I never had a mind of mine.
I was pulled out of my thoughts when a hand connected with my face, creating a resounding thud in the hallway, and I immediately winced from the stinging sensation caused by her hand.
"You look at me when I'm speaking, you worthless bitch." She said, as though trying to justify her actions.
I look up at her, feeling helpless and worthless just as she said.
"Good." she smirked in satisfaction.
I felt tears brim my eyes, but I wouldn't let them fall.
Not now.
But my traitorous body decided to take laws into it's own hands as tears rolled down my cheeks.
"Awww, is little Mia crying?" she fake-pouted.
I rubbed my cheeks violently and sighed in relief as the bell rang.
I scurried off to class and sat down, enjoying the peace.
A moment which was short lived as boiling hot water was poured all over my bare legs.
