Mate?

Just a warning, it talks about sexual intercourse (in a professional ish way) in the chapter. if you're not comfy with this, skip from where it says "stage two: physical bond:" until the part where the bold and italics end.

A couple hours later, Harry awoke, back in his larger (albeit, still small), 16 year old body. Draco was still sitting by his side and for some reason, all his senses were heightened. He could smell the scent of mint, lavender, and dark chocolate, that he assumed was coming from Draco.

Then, he smelt his own scent. It was a pretty nice smell, he'd say, of cold, sweet cream and strawberry wafer biscuits, but for the record, Draco's smelt better to him.

Madam Pomfrey walked in to check on him and noticed that he was awake.

"Good morning, Harry!"

"'Morning, Madam Pomfrey!" Harry beamed brightly.

___________ onto the chap:

"How are you feeling, dear?"

"I'm alright, but it feels like all my senses are more...sensitive?" Harry said.

Madam Pomfrey nodded and explained that that was normal with teenage/new Veela. Draco started to stir from where he was asleep in the chair next to the bed. Harry leaned over and shook Draco awake, despite Madam Pomfrey's warnings that Draco would be moody.

Draco's eyes shot open when he was shaken roughly.

"Hey, Har-Potter! Stop that!" Draco snapped, rubbing the sleep out of his eyes.

Harry didn't know why, but at the sharp tone of the other Veela, his eyes filled with tears and his chest ached with the feeling of disappointment. He upset his dominant mate. Wait- his mate?

The fact that this was all too overwhelming for him was made clear by the pellucid tears overflowing out of his eyes.

Draco looked shocked. Why was Harry crying? Was he always this emotional? Ugh, things were just so weird.

An instinct came over Draco, telling to protect, comfort his saddened mate. Draco's eyes widened.

Mate?! He thought.

He gave into his instinct and pulled Harry's slighter frame into his embrace.

"Shh, I'm sorry, lovely. I'm not mad at you, I was just surprised. No need to cry, I'm here~," Draco whispered into Harry's ear.

"B-but you sounded so mad, and, and you called me by my last name!"

"O-oh, sorry, Harry, love I didn't know if you wanted me to use your first or last name, but now I know, okay?" Draco said.

Harry nodded before speaking up, "Um, so-uhh, I guess we're mates then?"

"Y-yeah, I guess so... What do we do now though?" Draco asked.

Madam Pomfrey spoke up from where she was sitting next to them, "There's a section about mates in the book I showed you, if you're interested," she told them.

They both turned to her with wide eyes, waiting for her to pull the book out.

She flipped the book open to the correct page.

When a submissive Veela finds their mate, they will feel the urge to make them happy. If the mate does or says anything that can be interpreted badly, the submissive partner will have a much stronger reaction then they usually would. The submissive's hypersensitive feelings and emotions will return back to normal when both stages of bonding (see page 111) are completed.
   Dominants:
When a dominant Veela finds their mate, they will feel an instinctual urge to protect their mate, or keep them from harm. If they accidentally upset the submissive partner, they should feel an intense urge to comfort them, apologize, or try to make their mate feel better no matter how trivial the subject their mate is upset about is.

Harry and Draco's eyes widened in recognition of the symptoms they'd experienced. Harry asked to look at the page about bonding because he was curious, so Madam Pomfrey flipped to page 111.

   Stage One; Emotional:
For this stage of the bond to be completed, both partners need to trust one another unconditionally. Both the human and Veela sides of each person in the bond need to feel extremely comfortable around their mate. The Veela side can sense how comfortable you are and how much you truly appreciate your mate. This stage of bonding may include courting (where typically the dominant mate would court the submissive by bringing them meaningful gifts). It is not mandatory to court your mate although many bond mates have said that it has sped up the process of completing the first bond.
   Stage Two; Physical:
For this stage to be completed, bond mates will need to have sexual intercourse after the emotional bond is formed. During intercourse, the submissive will always be able to self lubricate unless they have a medical condition that prohibits them from doing this. Once the dominant ejaculates, a knot will be formed at the base of their penis to keep the submissive and dominant partners interlocked. The knot will take roughly 5-7 minutes to deflate. Both female and male dominant Veela have penises and are able to impregnate submissive Veela.

The teenagers both blushed. They didn't think they were quite ready for the second part of the bond yet.

"Thank you, Madam Pomfrey," Draco said.

At the same time, Harry said, "How long do I have to stay here?"

Madam Pomfrey chuckled and told Draco it wasn't a problem before telling Harry that he would have to stay until the next morning so she could monitor his condition for a little while longer.

"Ughhhh," Harry whined, "But I wanna gooo, I wanna spend time with Draco not in the hospital wing!"

"You can spend time with me whenever you want, love," Draco said with a small smile on his face.

Harry squealed with joy. His emotions were still very overwhelming when it came to his mate. He couldn't wait to get out of the hospital wing!
