One of the things that fall in to my path as an eclectic pagan is shamanic practitioning. Now, a shaman is a person (man or women) that is the spiritual leader/consultant of a tribe or clan. Although they may fall under many different names around the world, there goals and atributes tend to be the same. They live/breath/ and eat spiritual enlightenment. They heal the sick and the spiritualy restless. The most known shamans are of native american and african.
Shamanic practitioning is very difficult sometimes for myself, to remane as humble as i can be. Healing others can take a toll on me as well even with protection. Its the balance of give and take. You can never claim to be a shaman for that is something you simply cannot just be. But i do claim being a "practitioner". I follow alot of native american shamanic practices as well as early irish clan ones. I do have "father shaman" whom i speak with in meditation. He helps me with my spiritual path along with healing me of emotional aliments.
He takes them from me and turns that negotive into a positive, such as crying into a rock then planting in the ground to grow it into a tree, restoring harmony to myself and giving it back to mother earth.
