4. Love at first sight

The thing I still looked forward to after all my years of existence was the first time I met Olivia.

Flashback

I remember the first time I met her like it was yesterday. Being a young prince I wasn't allowed to wander out on my own. I was only allowed on certain days and my parents always made sure I was heavily guarded.
Good thing I was a smart guy. I made a deal with Mathias who was my personal bodyguard.
We had different facial features but lucky our back and side views were similar.

I found out about his secret relationship with a man from enemy territory who he would meet late at night when the whole city was asleep and silent.
I had followed him that night and watched him kiss Tris, who was the prince of our enemy land.
They did not care about the disputes between our kingdoms and loved each other dearly.
I would have never sold them out but then I took advantage of the situation and made a deal with Mathias and in return I swore to secrecy.

Mathias would take my place during my study time. He would dress in my royal attire while he provided me with a simple cloak.
No one could tell the difference and they knew better than to disturb the princes studies, so no one found out.

As soon as the coast was clear I would leave the castle and venture into town to explore.
Another condition of the deal was that I wouldn't go out on my own. Three trusted bodyguards had to tag along to protect me without catching the public eye.
As long as they didn't interrupt my fun and I never saw them I was cool with that.
I would spend my two free hours exploring in the streets and seeing how the towns people were living.
I even made a few friends and most people had never seen my face so I was safe as long as they didn't know who I really was.

I was on my way back to the palace one day when someone ran into me knocking us both to the ground.
I lay on my back with a woman on top of me. I was about to tell her a piece of my mind when I locked eyes with her.

I literally lost my voice as I stared into her deep brown eyes for the first time in my life I was stunned.
I was trapped by her beauty even though she was dressed in the worst quality clothing with dark dull colors.
Before I could pull myself together I heard noise in the distance heading closer.

"I'm sorry" she whispered Before she pushed herself off me and ran in the opposite direction from the noise.
"Your highness. Are you alright" Kingston, one of my body guards asked as he helped me up. My eyes still locked in the direction she had disappeared.
"Follow her and find out who she is" I said as I finally turned to him.
"But your highn..."
"That's an order" I said with a stern tone which shut him up. He bowed and then ran in the direction she had dissapeared.

As the other guards escorted me to the palace I couldn't help but smile thinking about the mystery woman I had met. That was the first time I believed in love at first sight.

Flashback end

The way we always met was definitely something out of a romantic movie, and every single time I got lost in her beautiful brown eyes I couldn't help but fall in love with her all over again.
"Thank you for saving me from that situation" I said as I smiled.
"Don't worry saving a damsel in distress is part of the job for us heroes" she said giving me another one of her amazing smiles.

"Am I a damsel in distress?" I asked as I raised my left eyebrow.
"You were in a tricky situation and I saved you soooo...yes" she said and I couldn't help but laugh.
"I guess so. Then what do I have to do to get your attention next time I need saving?" I asked not wasting anytime in getting her contacts.

"Lucky for you I carry my business cards all around" she said as she pulled out a card from her purse and handed it to me.
"I own a bakery in town. You should definitely..."
"Olivia" she was cut off by someone screaming her name. I cursed whoever decided to ruin my time with my Olivia.

"I have been looking all over for you. Its time to cut the cake and you know how mom gets when she can't see us both" the person oddly sounded like Olivia. It was the similar angelic voice but it obviously belonged to a man.
"I'm sorry. I just got out to answer a call and got a little carried away" Olivia apologized.
"That's okay. You can gallavant later let's go cut the cake. You know strawberry is my fav...oh hello there" I finally turned to face the man who had turned his attention to me.

I was frozen in place as I stared at the new face. He had the same golden brown hair which was cut short, dark brown eyes and light pink lips in an amazing smile. He was an exact replica of Olivia and I hate to admit it but he was beautiful.
"I see why you got caught up. Hello there handsome stranger" he called again and I snapped back to reality.

"H-hi" did I just stutter?
"My name is Oliver. I see you have already met my twin sister but let me assure you that I'm the fun twin and....OUCH" He screamed in pain when Olivia punched him on the shoulder.
"Sorry about that Mr Reid. My brother has no off button so you have to shut him up. It was nice meeting you" she said dragging him away.

"Wait. I also want to talk to the sexy tall guy. Why are you so mean? Just because you're older doesn't mean..." I couldn't hear the rest as they disappeared into the hotel.
I stood there in shock wondering if I should be happy or sad. Ever since the beginning of this curse Olivia has never had a single sibling and now all of a sudden she has a twin brother who looks exactly like her.
