Lauren tapped her fingers against the oak table and her face sparked up with pure confusion as she felt a warm hand rest against her shoulder. She craned her neck and gasped in surprise as she saw the familiar face of Camila. She felt her cheeks begin to heat up and she swore that she was glowing bright red in embarrassment.

"Sorry, I didn't notice you were busy." the brunette blushed coyly.

"No, it's fine." Lauren managed to squeak out as they made eye contact. A blanket of silence filled the room and the raven-haired beauty desperately wanted to speak but she had no clue what to talk about. The girl she was into was standing right in front of her. She felt extremely nervous. Should she talk about her day? No, no, that would feel too self-centered. Maybe she should ask how Camila's day went? No, too boring. She then came to a conclusion.

"I just got back from the gay-straight alliance meeting in the campus." Lauren blushed awkwardly. She silently hoped Camila was gay, too.

"They have that? That isn't just limited to middle school and high school?" Camila squeaked out and her warm chestnut gaze lit up.

Lauren went to respond but got hypnotized by those eyes of hers. She stared into the eyes and admired how soft and gentle her gaze was. She loved how many shades of brilliant brown were in her eyes. She loved how the sunlight gently caressed her gaze and lit it up to pure amber and pools of honey. She loved how the light reflected and danced on her eyes, making Camila squint ever so slightly.

"Hello? Lolo?" the brunette chirped casually.

"Did you just fucking call me Lolo?" Lauren giggled gently, feeling amused.

A frown eclipsed Camila's features and tears began to well up in her eyes. Oh no. Lauren felt her heart begin to break into a million fragile pieces. Shit, she didn't mean it like that.

Warm tears stained the brunette's face. Of course she had to go and fuck things up. Of course she had to be fucking awkward and stupid. Of course she had to go and give her friend a totally stupid nickname. She felt like an utter dumbass. She bit her bottom lip and she tried her best not to tear up more. Lauren must have been going to make fun of her. Why else would she laugh?

Why else would she laugh.. like how others laughed at her? Why else would she act like everyone else to her? She really wanted answers, as much as it scared her.

"Hey, Camila.. No, no.. I didn't mean to laugh in a rude way.. I thought it was cute.." the raven-haired woman croaked out sheepishly.

Camila sucked in air and slowly exhaled it. She felt a weight lifted off of her shoulders. Maybe Lauren wasn't making fun of her. Maybe she was.. telling the truth?  Camila felt her heartbeat speed up and she swore she could hear the sound of her heart, too. She tried her best to not blush furiously but she knew it was too late -- she was already a blushing mess. She then heard Lauren speak up.

"So, um, about the gay-straight alliance.. they do have that, yes." Lauren stated with a playful wink.

"Are you gay?" Camila blurted out. She couldn't help but ask. She didn't want to always blurt things out, but she felt like she had to. She could barely control herself. She anxiously began to tangle her fingers in her hair and twist a few strands around her ring finger to soothe herself while waiting for the answer.

"Actually, I'm bi. But you were really close." the pale woman said with a gentle smile placed on her features.

Camila crinkled her nose in thought. Lauren being able to date girls and guys if she wanted to? She thought that was super cool. But, she was a lesbian and very much proud of it. She went down her journey of self-acceptance at the age of fifteen. She saw a video about gay pride and then went down an endless cycle of watching gay marriage proposals, weddings, etc. She had come to the conclusion that she was just curious.

But she was far from curious, no, deep down inside she always knew she was gay. She later accepted herself at the age of eighteen. She came out to her parents who were caught off guard, but genuinely and lovingly supported her for who she is. She loved her family very much and hope Lauren had a similar experience with her family.

"I'm gay." Camila blushed nervously. Lauren raised an eyebrow in response and couldn't help but show off her white teeth in a grin.

"I'm really glad to hear that." Lauren said with a smirk as she rested her head against the palm of her hand.

Camila's face heated up furiously, now.

"I'm glad I told you, too." she squeaked out.
