Keefe's POV

"Turn left! Wait, right! Yeah, then go forward, forward.... Turn!" I abruptly pulled Sophie to the right, guiding her across a light brown wooden bridge leading to a breathtaking beach. With the gorgeous light pink sand dotted with pretty seashells ranging in every color, the shimmering ocean that looked as if it were made of bright sapphires, courtesy to the sunset that was beginning to set over the waves, and the cute small city behind them, it made for quite a sight. Sophie would be so surprised when she took the blindfold off!

"Ok, you can remove it!" I said, stopping my girlfriend on the edge of the bridge. Sophie smiled, hurriedly untying the cloth around her head and saying as she did so, "Keefe, where did you take me..." The 15 year old girl trailed off as she took in the amazing view, her face splitting into an even wider grin.

Nervous, I fidgeted and asked, "So, Foster... what do you think? Is it ok? I really tried, and I thought you might like it! If not though it's- it's totally fine, I can- oomph!" Sophie's brown eyes locked onto my ice blue ones, and she cut me off with a kiss. Slowly breaking away, I smirked and said, "So....yes?"

Sophie giggled and replied, "Keefe, this place is incredible! Best date night ever!" I breathed a sigh of relief and snuck glances at my beloved as she watched the sunset with me in a comfortable silence. That giggle made me feel like I was the luckiest man in the world- which I was to have such an amazing girl like her as my girlfriend. And tonight, I was going to say how I felt about her. Taking her hand, I looked into her eyes and began to say, "Sophie, you-" But I was cut off by yelling. Whipping around, I shoved Sophie behind me in a defensive position and a person in a hooded cloak with the Neverseen logo on it creepily smiled at us, saying, "Goodbye, little moonlark!" I could hear Sandor yelling and running towards us, but I knew he wouldn't make it in time. As if it were in slow motion, I saw the elf grab a throwing star, and Sophie screamed. If Sophie got hurt, my life wouldn't be worth living. She had so much to offer to this world, and she was going to save it. I knew what I had to do. In that split second I jumped up in front of Sophie, and the weapon pierced my body. I fell to the ground, and heard Sophie shriek in anger and agony. In blurry vision, I could see Sandor battling the member, and everything went dark.

"He doesn't have much time, miss, I'm so sorry..." I faintly heard. Where was I? What had happened... the memories quickly flooded back. Our date night. I was going to tell Sophie for the first time that I loved her. The Neverseen member! I managed to open my eyes, and adjusted to the bright light. I could see Sophie opening a door and running towards me. Quickly glancing around, I found I was in Elwin's hospital room. I must've been brought here after the fight. I tried to glance down at my stomach, which felt numb, but quickly glanced away at the sight of all that blood. This wasn't good, was it?

Sophie ran to my bed, and I glanced at her and managed to whisper, "Are you ok, Foster?"

She tried to smile through the tears and, tugging out an eyelash, replied, "Keefe, you're asking me?"

I looked around again and murmured, "Well, that date night didn't quite go out as planned." She opened her mouth to reply, but all of the sudden her imparter began to ring, no doubt her parents worried if she was alright. Sophie quickly shut it off, turning back to me, and I smiled as I recognized the song.

"You made our song, Never Forget You, your ringtone?" I whispered, trying to smile through the pain. I couldn't let Sophie see how much it hurt though, as I knew these would be our last moments together. We had so many memories with this song, from when Sophie first played it to show me what human music was like on her ipod, and our late night dance parties to it, and when we would just sit together listening which we did whenever one of us was going through something or having a rough day. I took in a ragged breath and began to sing, "I will never forget you. You will always be by my side."

Sophie took my hand and murmured through her choked back sobs, "Fr- from the day that I met y-you, I knew that I wo-uld love you 'til the day I die."

I continued, "And I will never want much more." A sharp pain in my stomach made me wince, but I continued on, "And in my heart I will always be sure..."

Sniffing, Sophie brushed a strand of hair out of my eyes and whispered, "I will never forget you. And you'll always be by my side."

"'til the day I die" We whispered together, eyes locked. I tried to take a breath, but it became much harder and drained me of nearly all my strength. I had to tell her. I struggled to keep my eyes open and said, "What I wanted to tell you earlier...I- I love you, Foster. I always have. I always will. Since the moment I saw you when I was skipping class, there was something about you, and I have been the luckiest guy in the world to have been your girlfriend. But live your life, don't stay and reminisce on me. I'll wait for you, forever and always. I'll see you on the other side." Sophie gasped, and, gripping my hand, said, "Keefe, I love you too, so much." I smiled peacefully and the pain was too much to bear. My eyes slowly closed, and I could hear Sophie screaming for Elwin and sobbing.

I took one last look at the girl who made my life worth living and breathed, "Forever and Always." And the world turned into black.
