Sonic

In the morning we are brought to the docks. Me, Tails, the Queen, the Guard and Olivia. The five of us board the ship with only the essentials for supplies. Tails is holding a scroll. He rolls it up and sets it on a barrel. I stand on the right side of the deck and look over at the swirling vortex of death known as the ocean, I look back as we pull away from the shore. Staring at the water so long makes me feel sick. not sick, sick I don't get motion sickness but it makes me feel fear, it makes me feel like running all the way back to shore even though I can't. I'm trapped on this boat, water on all ends and monsters ready to drown me at any moment.

"How're you holding up?" Tails says, suddenly appearing beside me.

"I'm fine." I say gripping the railing of the boat as it sways.

"What's wrong?" Amara asks, leaning against the railing beside me.

"Sonic's afraid of water." Tails chuckles.

"I DO NOT!!!!!!" I yell, suddenly I feel something wet touch my quills and I let out a small scream as I jump away. This only triggers Tails to laugh harder.

"Sonic." I turn to see Amara staring at me with a serious expression. She takes the raindrop jewel off her forehead and holds it before me, she nodes as I put my hand over it and she says in a harsh tone under her breath  "this is the heart of the Midas Sea, it was given to me by my brother before he left our kingdom. It will bless you with water breathing, you may keep it throughout our journey. DON'T LOSE IT."

I take the tiny charm and put it around my neck. "I promise I'll keep it safe." I say giving a thumbs up and smirking.

The sun is setting with no land in sight, but somehow this jewel keeps me from being afraid. I mean there's still a little bit of fear, I'm sure that'll never go away but I do feel more confident.

We all rest below deck, all except Fredrick who stays above to steer the ship. a mellow tune slips into my head as I attempt to keep my eyes open. My right foot taps along with the song and I begin to hum it out loud. Tails is asleep beside me with Olivia resting on his shoulder. Amara is holding a lantern in one hand and the map in the other she's most likely studying it.

"So where exactly are we headed?" I ask, keeping my voice low as not to wake anyone. She remains silent. I walk over to her thinking she didn't hear me, I ask again "Where are we heading?" I bend down to realize she had fallen asleep. I blow out the lantern and leave to go above deck.

"Hey, Fredrick do you know where we're heading?" I ask walking up next to the wheel only to see no one is there. That's odd. He wasn't below deck, he's not above it, where'd he- all of a sudden I hear a stunning voice sing that makes me forget everything it pierces and fills my heart with love and joy I follow it to the edge of the boat, I look down at the water, there is nothing there in the dark. Without thinking I jump into the ocean. Wait a minute, what am I doing!? The feeling of water wakes me up from my trance. I land at the bottom of the ocean. Wow this charm really is working. The water still makes me want to scream, but at least it won't kill me. The song starts again and I blindly follow it towards a bright red light.

I stop on a hill 5 feet from the boat. Before me there's a lady that looks exactly like the one from my dream. Same red hair, same bone made crown and trident, same black tentacles the only difference being her eyes, her left eye is a bright ruby red and her right eye is like a sapphire they shine as bright as any of the Chaos Emeralds, she sings to me and I feel uneasy, I can't seem to turn away.

"You've made it." She smirks and throws a tentacle at me, I fly into the boat causing it to violently shake.
