By the River

River city is a city so small it isn't even on the map. With a population of 450 it's hard to meet new people, especially when you are figuring out your blossoming sexuality but you've grown up with everyone in your classes.

Danielle River's entire family has lived in River since before the industrial revolution when one of her many grandpas founded river city with just some wood and his wife.

Gradually, people from other places began to settle down in the city and grew it to what it is today.

Danielle has always hated River, and has always hated her family. They think they are high and mighty due to their last name, but alas Danielle is only 17 and is supposed to take on the job of a housewife once she graduates high school. "River women never go to college. They stay home, make beautiful babies, and cook and clean for their husbands."

Sierra Dandy has lived in River since she could remember. Her Grandma, Sandy Dandy, moved to River to escape an abusive husband.

Sierra's boyfriend, Johnny, has been her "boyfriend" since kindergarten. Johnny gave Sierra a flower on the playground and they've been "sweethearts" ever since.

Although Sierra knows her mother wants her to settle down with Johnny, Sierra isn't feeling that kind of attraction. Sierra thinks she is broken and that she just needs to get the settling over with. Despite all of Johnnys attempts to make love with Sierra, she always turns him down, claiming she isn't ready. Sierra is 19, her mother was already married at 17. Sierra fears of what would happen to her if she doesn't settle down soon.
