        YN = Your Name

        (You're 5 years old)

You're about to fall asleep when you hear something drop from down stairs. You kick off your sheets and jump into your fuzzy slippers. Quietly, you slowly open your bedroom door and make your way down the stair case. You hear another noise and follow it, leading yourself towards the kitchen. You take a peek and see your mom packing stuff into a suit case.

"Mama?" She looks at you with wide eyes and rushes towards you.

"Go back to bed, honey," she said quietly. You could tell she was only crying a few moments ago.

"Where are you going?" She grabs your hand and gently pulls you close to give you a very tight hug.

"No where honey. Please just go back to bed," she said trying to turn you the other way.

"Promise?" A tear rolls down your cheek.

"I promise, darling." She picks you up and carries you quietly back upstairs and puts you in bed.

"I'll be back soon, (YN)," she kisses your forehead and takes off. You get out of bed and run to your bedroom window. You struggle to watch through the rain as she rushes into her car and drives off.

You run out of your room and go to your dad's room.

"Papa, wake up!" You try shaking him.

"What..." He said slowly getting up and rubbing his eyes.

"Mama..." You try and tell him. "Mama is gone.."

"What?!" He kicks off his sheets and runs out of the room and you follow behind as he runs out the front door. You watch as he runs onto the road in the freezing rain and he searches for your mother.

"Laura!" He yelled. Even though it was raining, you could tell he was crying. You had no clue whatsoever of what was going on. You debated whether to go to your father onto the road or not.

You begin to run to him and hug him tightly.

"She promised she would be back..." You said.

"Not all promises are true, (YN)," he sniffed. He dropped to his knees and began to cry.

You didn't know what to do, but to hug his head and think about what he said.

        Not all promises are true.
