I changed into a pair of skinny jeans and a sparkly pink tank top and slipped on my flats on the way out the door. Earlier I had taken a shower and straightened my hair. All I needed right now was makeup, but I wouldn’t worry about that for too long…
You’re probably wondering where I’m going or why I’m getting all dressed up, well I’ll tell you. It’s my best friend’s birthday and a bunch of friends and I are going to help set up a surprise party for her. Her parents wanted to plan it, but I talked them out of it. I’m a pretty convincing person when I want to be. People have told me that will help me out in life, whatever that means. Well anyway, we’re having the party at her house, and I have her parents out of town for the night (I got them tickets to her mom’s favorite band’s concert.) She doesn’t know of course, since it’s obviously a surprise party. Me and Samantha, Chelsea’s other bestfriend have the whole thing planned out. But before I got there, she had insisted that she do my makeup and give me a makeover basically. After arguing back and forth, I finally agreed to it. I barely ever wore any makeup, at all. But there are going to be hot guys here, so I don’t want to show up looking like crap.
An hour later, my hair and makeup was almost done. I had already straightened my hair, but she made it look even better. “So where’s Chels?” I ask her as she did her own make up. “Her parents made her walk her cousin home.” Sam laughed. “Oh God.” I said laughing too. Chelsea was the laziest person you would ever meet, after me of course. She hated little kids too, so that didn’t make it better. Her cousin didn’t live too far away so she would be back in a little bit. “You ready?” I asked Sam and she nodded and stood up, pulling up her jeans and jumping up awkwardly because they were too tight on her. I rolled my eyes and headed down the stairs to the backyard, where we would be hiding. A lot of people were already there and almost everyone looked over when we walked in. The only ones who didn’t were the ones who were sucking each other’s faces off. I rolled my eyes at them and looked around. I didn’t know any of these people! Sam, Chels, and I all went to the same school and knew most of the same people, but they had more of a social life than I did so they knew a lot of people that I didn’t.
This would probably be a good time to introduce myself, Andrea Collins. I go by Andi though, call me Andrea and I kill you. I’m pretty short for my age, and I’m not the skinniest person you’ll meet. I have a nice family, nice friends, and my fair share of haters. My life is pretty decent when you look at it, I guess. The only thing I really don’t have is a boyfriend. I’m really not into any guys that go to my school. The ones that are attractive are either taken, jerks, or gay. So if there even are any decent guys, I still wouldn’t have any chances with them. Basically, I can just forget about it. As I mentioned earlier, I don’t have much of a social life. That’s mainly my parents fault. They don’t let me do anything, go anywhere, stuff like that. They’re super strict and way overprotective. They say its cos they love me and because they want the best for me, but my parents take it to a whole new level, trust me.
I text Chelsea to see where she is, so I would know if we should all hide yet or not. “What are you doing?” I hear a voice behind me and jump a foot in the air. I sigh and turn to face Sam. “You scared me!” I yell. “Really? I thought you just jumped in the air for the heck of it.” She says rolling her eyes. Well then, who pissed in her cereal? I was used to Sam’s sarcasm. All three of us were fluent in sarcasm really, but sometimes she took it a little too far, as well as with our insults. You know, the whole fake fights with your best friend and all that. Chelsea and I did it all the time, but we’ve known each other for a while and we’re really close, so I know that it’s just a joke. But Sam takes it to a whole new level. Even when we’re not with Chelsea and it’s just us two in school or whatever, she’s really rude towards me. I get a feeling that she doesn’t like me at all, but the next minute she gets really friendly and stuff. Even if she didn’t, or I didn’t like her, I would have to put up with her cos she and Chelsea are best friends. Sometimes I choose not to argue with Sam because she could turn Chelsea against me, and that’s something I definitely don’t want to happen. I know, it’s probably not going to happen but you never really know... When I didn’t respond to her sarcasm she asked me again. “What are you doing?” I was in the middle of texting Chelsea to ask where she was, so we could be prepared. “Texting Chelsea…” I said, my eyes on my phone. She took the phone out of my hand. I gave her a look. “Uhm, I already did that!” she says. “You could have said so instead of taking my phone.” I said slowly. She was really starting to irritate me. “Well I already took care of it.” She snapped. “Uh, if you don’t remember, we are planning this together, note the together part.” I snapped back. “You don’t have to be a bitch.” She said, glaring at me. Okay seriously, what’s her problem? Instead of saying something back, I just apologized. She walked away, brushing my shoulder with hers on her way. I scoffed. Yeah, I was the bitch here.
