Finn's P.O.V:
I paid for my ticket and got on the next train to who knows where. It was rainy and dark the day I decided to run away.
I didn't care, at least I'd be getting away from him. I pulled out my phone and checked the time,"11:11, make a wish." I closed my eyes and wished for a better life in my new home.
I slowly opened my eyes to see a pretty blonde girl sitting next to me. "So. Where you headed?" I shrugged and she nodded. "Another runaway, huh."
I sighed and looked out the window, before saying "what's it to you?" She had a sympathetic expression. "It's alright. I can help you get settled if you want."
I nodded and replied "I would love that." I smiled. She smiled back and looked up as if in thought. "Let's play a game." She said quietly.
I looked at the mischievous look on her face and pondered on the subject "What do you have in mind?" I asked.
"How about we play pretend." She said quietly with a smirk on her face. "I'm down." I said. "I'll tell you how the game works once we get there.
"But to where exactly were we going? I didn't care. I just sat back and closed my eyes, waiting for this ride to be over.
•
"Finn, wake up!" A voice yelled. I groaned and opened my eyes. As the sleepy sensation wore off I realized where I was.
"How do you know my name...?" I said. "I may have gone through your wallet" The blonde girl stated with a smile.
I sighed. "Please don't be mad. We have to get going if we're gonna make it to the party!" She smiled as if excited.
Woah woah woah. What? A party? "Party?! I didn't even pack a bag or anything..." I said. "Chillax you can borrow something of mine okay?" She coolly waved it off. "Sure." I dismissed.
We walked onto the platform as I rubbed my eyes. I looked up and saw tall buildings and heard car horns and so many conversations going on I couldn't make one word out.
Where am I?
"WELCOME TO NEW YORK!!!" A lady yelled.
Oh. My. God. I'm in New York. I took a fucking train to fucking New York. I started feeling light headed and getting tunnel vision. Oh no. Going down.
•
"Finn?" A familiar voice said. I groaned and rubbed my eyes trying to clear my vision. "SHE'S ALIVE! WE'RE ALL GOOD!"
I looked up to see the blue eyed blond looking down at me. "Don't worry, you're okay." I nodded. "I know it's a bit much to take in but, you'll get used to it." She said with a smile.
I tried to get up losing my balance and falling again. I laughed and got up successfully the second time.
"Come on I'll take you to my flat so we can find you something to wear." She squealed and took my hand, practically dragging me.
"B-but I like my clothes" I said nervously. "Honey...you're in New York. You can't wear jeans and a band tee. We have to get you a party dress and maybe some heels." I groaned.
"TAXIIII!!!" She hollered to a nearby car. We got in and zoomed through the traffic. By zoomed I mean we got stuck and didn't move for about 20 minutes.
She sighed. "I hate traffic." I nodded agreeing. "We'll just walk from here Julio." She handed him the money and we stepped out onto the streets of Manhattan.
I gasped at the beautiful scenery. The lights were so bright they were blinding. The building were so tall they were intimidating. I was immediately pulled out of my daze by an angry (and rude) man who I had accidentally bumped into.
"HEY WATCH IT TUTS IM WALKING HERE!" He snapped.
Tuts? Really?
"I'D SAY THE SAME TO YOU! RUDE ASS!" The blonde called out. We continued our walk until we got to a building and my friend whose name I still do not know spoke into a little device while pushing a button.
"Hi Jeff, it's me room 129 floor C? You know the drill." She turned to face me with a smile. "Oh by the way my name is poppy. You know. Like the flower?" She held out her hand and laughed. I smiled and shook it.
"I don't even have to introduce myself. Miss goes through wallets." She rolled her eyes jokingly. "Oh! Here we are!" The doors opened and I got in an elevator along with her.
The doors opened to reveal a huge apartment with stylish furniture and an expensive looking kitchen.
"Wait til' you see the closet." She boasted. "Wow. Poppy. This is amazing." I looked out the window. She had an AMAZING view! "Come on slow pants!" She pulled me into another room.
"Slow pa-" I stopped in the middle of my sentence at a loss of words. She had a huge walk-in closet with designer clothes.
"Oh. My. God." I finally said. "I know. It's like paradise for fashionistas." She said filing through the hangers as if she was looking for something.
"Ah! Perfection." She said putting a dress up next to me to see how it looked. "Beautiful. Compliments your eyes." She said. I smiled at that. I never really got called beautiful...
"Go put it on!!" She shoved me and the dress into a bathroom to change. I quickly slipped the dress on and examined myself in the mirror.
I looked beautiful. I never really liked how I looked in dresses...but this. Was reserved yet showy. Sparkly yet dull. It. Was. Perfect.
I came out and turned around to flaunt how pretty I looked in it. She gasped and held her hands to her mouth "OMG OMG OMG!!!" I laughed at her amazement.
"So. This party thing..." I stated questionably "It's at my friend Calum's penthouse. There will be drinks and more." She said quickly with her hands still covering her mouth.
I pulled her out of her shocked state and told her to go find her something to wear. I looked at the shoes she had. All girly heels... I tried to hide my utter disgust and put my converse back on.
If I'm going to wear a dress I shouldn't let all of my tomboyishness go away should I?
"So. What do you think?" She turned around in a little black dress. "Beautiful! Absolutely stunning." I said smiling.
Poppy is a nice girl. I hope we'll be friends for a long time.
