I rushed into the building, trying not to lose my purse as I speed-walked towards the elevator. I watched the doors begin to close, and I realized I was still quite a few feet away from the doors. I picked up the pace but still reached the door, as it closed shut. I breathed a sigh of despair, as I heard the machine begin to rise behind the closed doors.
I took a moment to collect my breath, as I waited for the familiar 'ding' that accompanied the elevator. While I stood I felt a figure walk up right beside me. I turned to the side to be greeted by a tall, dark skinned man. He was well-built and had a tattoo peeking out from under his grey shirt sleeve. He made no move to introduce himself, so I turned back around and stared at the closed doors in front of me.
After what felt like ages, the doors finally opened, I allowed the man beside me in first, and I followed suit. I went to reach for the floor button, my hand colliding with mans. I pulled back and he reached forward to press the '4' button. I raised my eyebrows in surprise, realizing he was going to the same floor as I. I figured he was probably one of my team members, and that I might as well introduce myself now. I turned and stuck my hand out sharply at the man, with a large, fake smile across my face.
"Hi, I'm Y/N." I said. The man smiled and grabbed my hand, shaking it lightly.
"Derek Morgan, you're our new team member, right?" I nodded. He just mumbled something under his breath, that I couldn't quite hear.At the moment, the elevator doors opened and we both stepped out. Derek immediately took off to the left, and I began looking for my new boss. He must have realized I was confused because Derek turned around and walked back over to me.
"You looking for Hotch?" He asked. I nodded my head, assuming Hotch was short for Hotchner. Derek led me to an office, with a plaque next to the door reading "Aaron Hotchner". I quickly thanked Derek and I raised my fist to knock on the doorway. I heard a deep but gentle voice say "Come in" from inside the room.I rounded the corner into the office. Aaron Hotchner had dark hair and wore a black suit, his pale skin complimenting the dark outfit. When I had viewed the image Aaron had sent me, I had thought he was very attractive, but I immediately brushed that thought away considering he was soon to be my boss. I sat down in the chair placed in front of the desk, smoothing my skirt down and putting on my professional smile. Aaron placed the folder in his hand down on the desk, and then looked up to meet my eyes.
"Hello Y/N, you already know who i am considering we have been chatting for the past few weeks about this position. Have you brought your things with you?" He said, glancing at the bag placed next to me.
"Yes, I brought everything you asked for." I said, reaching for my bag, before Aaron stopped me by clearning his throat."Actually Y/N , we have a very important case that needs to be dealt with right now. The files i asked for can just be sat on my desk for now, and I'll get to them later. As for now, would you like to follow me to the bull pen so you can meet the team?" I nodded, jumping to my feet, placing the folder in my hand on his desk.
Aaron walked out of the door and I silently followed him, mentally preparing myself for the case. Aaron had warned me when I got the job that I would see some not-so-pretty things and that I needed to be prepared to feel uncomfortable. We reached our destination, a medium-sized room with a circle table placed in the middle, and a screen at the front of the room. Everyone was already sat at the table, their eyes turning to me as Aaron and I walked into the room. Here we go, I thought.
authors note: i understand that this chapter seems very short. i'm hoping to make them longer in the future, but this is the first chapter and i didn't want it to seem too long :/
