4- "Sing with me!"

The echo of the shot rang in my ear. I stood, in shock, for about 3 seconds, before taking off running towards where the shot came from.
"Spencer!" I yelled. I needed to know if he was okay. I pushed out of the door seeing JJ, Emily, and Spencer standing over Manny's body.

"Did you get him?" I asked walking over to Spencer.

"We did. How was your first case?" Spencer asked, smiling down at me.

"Good, for as good as a case can be, I guess." I answered. He nodded, agreeing with me.

"What was your first case like?" I asked suddenly. Spencer's eyes turned towards the ground, as he began to speak.

"Uh, we caught the guy, but he killed over 20 women, over the course of 6 years." He said, sadly. I reached forward and rubbed his shoulder.

"At least you got him, right?" I asked in my most comforting voice. He shrugged. We sat in silence for a few seconds before Emily walked up to us.

"Guys, Hotch wants us back to the station after they take the body away. " She said to me and Spencer, I muttered an 'okay', and she turned back around and walked back to Manny's body laying on the ground. I pulled my phone out of my pocket and sent a text to my sister, telling her how the case went, and that I would be coming home that night. In my peripheral vision, I could see Spencer's eyes trained on me. I raised my eyes, and met his.

His eyes immediately snapped away from mine, and he raised the book in his hand up to his face. My phone pinged, and I looked at it to see a message. I opened it and quickly read it, thumbing out a reply. Emily told us that she and JJ were going to wait for the paramedics and that Spencer and I could go back to get ready to go home. I thanked them and walked back to the car with Spencer, and we hopped in.

Spencer started the car and Umbrella by Rihanna was playing softly on the radio. I buckled myself in, and reached forward turning the radio up. I started dancing and singing to the music.

"When the sun shine, we shine together!" I sung loudly, moving my hands and arms. It wasn't really dancing more like flailing. Spencer laughed and shook his head. I continued to sing and dance.

"Come on Spencer, sing with me!" I said. Spencer laughed but didn't protest as he started singing the lyrics.

"Now it's raining more than ever!" We both sang, "Know that we'll still have each other!" I laughed as Spencer continued the song

"You can stand under my umbrella!" He sang, and I couldn't stop laughing. He started laughing, and turned the song down a bit, so we could hear each other.

"Yn?" Spencer asked me.
"Yeah?" I said, still smiling.
"Do you want to get dinner with me?"

Authors Note: im sorry for how short this is, i'm going through a writers block, so it took me forever to write this short chapter. i will be updating on Friday, but I won't be able to update through the weekend because i'll be camping. thank you for reading this, it means a lot🤍
