"More roses, Spence?" I said, holding them in their hands as I breathed in its beautiful bouquet.
"It's our two month anniversary, Andy. Of course I've got you more roses." He smiled at me, wearing an argyle sweater vest with a white collared shirt underneath and jeans. He had cut his hair, and though I thought it looked very handsome, part of me missed it when it was long and tucked behind his ears.
"So where are you taking me?" I asked, grabbing the coat he gave to me. I wore it everywhere now. It was a part of me.
"Somewhere romantic," He replied simply, a knowing grin on his face.
"Hmmm," I said with a smile, playing along as I hooked my arm in his and walked out the door, locking it behind me. "Do I know this place?"
"You might." He said mysteriously.
"Really?"
"Really." He grabbed the front door of the apartment building and opened it for me, a true gentleman. I smiled.
"Are you sure you just can't give me one little hint?" Walking to wherever we were going didn't surprise me anymore. We walked almost everywhere now, always together.
"Nope." He responded, and I could tell he was enjoying himself.
"Okay, then, I guess I'm just going to have to use my secret FBI profiler skills to figure it out." I said with a smile, my arm still intertwined in his as I leaned on him, my hair falling onto his shoulder. "Is it... this place?" I asked, pointing to a random restaurant I saw as we walked.
"No."
"How about that one?"
"Not even close."
"Okay..." I looked around. "What about that one? Over there?"
"Wrong again." We laughed.
"Okay, I give up. Can you tell me now?" He stopped and turned to face me.
"We're already here." I turned around with a smile. The same little restaurant that Spencer took me to our first date was in front of me, just how I remembered it being all that time ago.
"Spence..." I whispered.
"Come on." He said, grabbing my hand and pulling me forward. The restaurant was decorated the same on the inside - despite the fact that it's been about three months since the last time we were here, it seems like it was only yesterday.
The hostess brought us to the same seats we sat in the last time we were here and I gushed, only somewhat surprised by the fact that my boyfriend was one of the most romantic people I had ever met.
"Spence, this is amazing." He smiled and looked down as if humbled by this fact. "You didn't need to do this."
"Sure I did. We've been 'Strauss dating' for two months now."
I laughed. "What do you mean, 'Strauss dating'?" I asked.
"Two months ago today, Strauss told us we could date. I think that needs to be celebrated."
"It seems everything needs to be celebrated with you, Spencer."
"Is that a problem?" He asked, though he already knew the answer.
No. It wasn't. It was incredibly romantic.
We ordered and ate, taking our time and talking about how Garcia was definitely spying on us through our phones. When we were done, we walked around and ended up at a park.
"I've never been here before," I said, looking around as we sat down on a bench.
"It's nice, isn't it?" Spencer asked.
"It's beautiful." I gave a small smile, looking at the moonlight peaking through the curtain of trees.
"Yes, it is." He said, though he never took his eyes off me.
"I love you, Spence." I said, turning to look into his eyes. He looked right back into mine.
"I love you, too, Andy." He replied, his voice barely a whisper. I softly smiled and turned back to look at the park, my head resting on his shoulder. Life had taken so many turns this past few months, but it gave me Spencer, and I wouldn't trade him for the world.
"Hey, guys!" I lifted my head up suddenly to see Morgan and Garcia standing in front of us. I fixed my coat, my face turning red, a little embarrassed.
"Hey," I said with a smile. "What are you guys doing here?"
"Morgan and I just went for dinner," Garcia explained. Morgan gave Spencer a sly grin. "Okay, well, we'll leave you lovebirds alone." She said with a wink. "See you guys tomorrow." I watched them walk away and turned to Spencer once they were completely out of my sight.
"So what was worse? Rossi or Morgan and Garcia?" I joked, and Spencer laughed.
"Just wait 'til Hotch sees us," He said, and I smiled, leaning my head back where it was.
