I sprinkled some water on Avni's face and tapped on her cheek. Her pupils moved and she slowly opened her eyes.
" Avni " I engulfed her in my arms. I was scared. I can't see her in that situation.
" Are you ok " I asked cupping her face. She nodded her head weakly.
I saw her head was bleeding. I sets some cushion behind her back for support. Then I took out the first aid kit from the drawer.
" I'm ok Neil " Avni said holding my hand before I put a bandage on her wound.
" Shut your mouth and let me do my work " I ordered glaring at her. She sighed and stayed quiet after that.
" Ouch...ahh " she winced in pain when I cleaned her wound. I wouldn't leave you Vidyut. That moron is not a human like his mother. How can he torture his wife. Bloody rascal.
I took a deep breath to control my anger. Now my first priority is Avni. She needs me. I blew air on her wound and carefully cleaned it. After that I put a bandage on it.
It's all my fault. If she didn't cook for me then she wouldn't be in this situation. I'm an idiot. Knowing what the consequences might be, I let her cook. Argggg...How can you be so careless, Neil ?
~ Avni ~
" Neil relax, I'm completely fine " I said in a weak voice seeing his tensed. His face was looking dull. He must be blaming himself for this. But it's not his fault.
" I'm sorry Avni because of me Vidyut punished you " he said lowering his head.
I cupped his face with both my hands and lifted his head. We looked into each other's eyes.
" You did nothing, Neil. Don't blame yourself " tears rolled out of his eyes and he hugged me tightly hiding his face on crook of my neck.
" I can't see you in pain, Avni. I can't " he said with cracked voice.
I was amazed and felt so blessed to have a friend like him, who can't even see a single scratch on me. I'm getting used to with his care.
I caressed his back to calm him. He broke the hug and looked at me.
" Why are you still here in this hell, Avni ? He never treated you like a wife should be treated. He never even cared for you. For him you are only a show piece " he said with anger. His eyes were showing how much anger he has for Vidyut.
" I can't do anything Neil " I said helplessly.
" Why can't you, Avni ? Leave him and start a new life. Live your life Avni "
" He wouldn't let me go away from him. Never. If I somehow escape from here then he will again bring me back here. He is a king, Neil. More powerful than you thinks " I paused for a moment " This is my fate " I whispered.
" No Avni. This is not your destiny. Your destiny is in your hand. Make it how you want it to be. Don't let anyone to decide your destiny " He said holding my shoulder.
I'm understanding what he is saying but it's impossible. I'm not scared of Vidyut but I know his power very well.
" I'm with you, Avni. I'll help you to out of this hell " I smiled. I know he will always there for me but it can cause his life in risk and I don't want him to be get in trouble because of me.
" Neil I.... I.." He stopped me putting a finger on my lips.
" I know your answer " he removed his finger. " We will talk about it later "
" Sleep " he covered the blanket over me and moved to the couch.
" I can't go now so I have to stay in your room tonight " I nodded. Neil laid on couch back facing me.

My sleep got disturb when I heard some noice. I got up and saw Avni was blabbering something in sleep.
" Neilll....." She woke up screaming my name. She was sweating and breathe heavily. I ran to her.
" Avni what happened " she was not able to speak anything. I took her hand in my my hand and rubbed her palm. " Avni relax "
" Avni breath in and breath out " she followed my instructions. " Yes, like that " after few minutes she calmed down. I gave her water.
" Now tell me why you screamed my name " I asked.
" I saw a nightmare " I sighed. She scared me. It's due to stress and fear. All credit goes that Vidyut. I clenched my jaws.
" Don't worry...." I carefully laid her on bed " it happens. Try to sleep again " I patted on her forehead.
" Please stay with me " she pleaded holding my hand. I hate to see her helpless.
" I'm here Avni, with you " I assured her. I got up and sat beside her. She was holding my right hand. I placed my left hand on her forehead then ran my fingers through her hair.
I promise you Avni I'll take you out of this hell and till then your bodyguard will protect you. I know this time I failed but wouldn't again. I kissed on her forehead. She unknowingly smiled and placed her hand on me. It made me smiled too.
I wake up because of continuous ringing of alarm which I set in my phone yesterday night. I switched off the alarm. I felt some weight on my chest and found Avni's head was on my chest. She was sleeping cuddling with me and hand was wrapping around her.
I smiled unknowingly then realized we have to go to store room before guards and workers come to their work.
"Avni...Avni"I tried to awake her but she just snuggled to me more. If it was not necessary then I wouldn't awake her. She is looking like a cute adorable baby while sleeping.
After 10 minutes she finally woke up and we successfully manage reach to store room before any guards or worker come to their duty. I opened the store room's door.
" Don't panic ok " she nodded. Then I saw the bandage on her head and removed it carefully so Vidyut wouldn't know anything. I hugged her before locking the door and came out of palace. Hope Vidyut open the door soon. God please take care of Avni.
