Ace

Introduction

Hey Poppy here. I get it, you're probably a little confused as to what's going on. Well I'm going to explain the whole backstory of this story right now.
I'm the one that started the Aces. I've grown up reading the Harry Potter series and have my own Harry Potter themed tumblr account. I've always seen these posts describing head-cannons of Muggleborn students doing things at Hogwarts while the purebloods sit around confused, and when I found out Hogwarts was real, and I was going there, I decided to get a group of Muggleborn students together to test out these head-cannons and see if they work the same way tumblr predicted or if they're a complete flop and would never work. 

I met Jace first at diagonal ally, when Professor Longbottom took me and my dad to get my stuff for school we ran into another professor taking Jace and his parents around. Naturally the adults stopped to talk so Jace and I started chatting about these tumblr posts. That's when we decided we were going to be the first two members of this group.

We still needed a name though, and that's where Harper comes in. Jace and I found each other on the Hogwarts express nearly a month after our first meeting and we were chatting together in an empty compartment when Harper walked in. She had on a Marvel tshirt so we automatically knew she was muggleborn like us. She asked if we wanted to play cards on the way there and we accepted. While shuffling the deck a card flew out and into my lap. It was the Ace of Diamonds. Harper apologizes and shuffled it back into the deck but that card got me thinking, so far there were three of us in the group, if we could get one more muggleborn we could name the group after that card. It was a perfect name and really only people with muggle game knowledge would understand the reference.

Leo joined just before the sorting. Jace saw Leo trip and a couple other students were teasing him, He looked extremely uncomfortable. Jace went over to help him up and casually ask what he thought of Hogwarts so far. Leo has said he'd read about it but didn't imagine it could really be real. That told us all we needed to know. He was a muggleborn. We offered a spot in the new group to him  and he accepted saying he's never been in a club before.

Part of me thinks the four of us meeting the way and time we did was meant to be, because once we got to the sorting Jace was sorted first. He got Slytherin then Leo was put in Ravenclaw. It was a bit of a wait before Harper was sorted into Gryffindor then almost immediately after I was put in Hufflepuff. We now had an Ace in each of the four houses giving us an even better advantage at trying out every single headcannon.

At our first meeting we decided upon nicknames so when we wrote to each other about these head cannons no one else would know who it was for/from. We also assigned an Ace to each person. With the help of a willing older student we managed to enchant each ace playing card to show the time of the next meeting and/or the next mission as we call them.
