“C’mon,” Greyson excitedly tugged on her hand, leading her out of the front door of the house they had been staying in for the last two days.
While Greyson was excited to show his mate around the pack he had grown up in, Hope was nervous about being under the curious gazes of anyone around. But after some encouraging and reassurance, she stayed glued to Greyson’s side as they walked about, her mate smiling happily with people.
“Hey, Ira!” Greyson suddenly called, putting a hand in the air, beckoning him over. The man Greyson called for walked over, his gait confident but relaxed and approachable.
“Greyson,” Ira greeted, stopping in front her and Greyson. “This must be your mate, congratulations.”
“This is Hope,” Greyson said, pulling Hope closer to his side as he spoke. “and this is, Ira. He is the Beta.”
Ira nodded with a smile
“Where is your mate?” Greyson, briefly looking around. He hadn’t met her yet but he figured she would be close since Ira is out and about.
“At the house. She’s- Well, she’s still adjusting to everything.” Ira explained.
Greyson nodded understandably.
“Well, everyone hopes to see the new Beta Female soon.”
“Yeah, she’ll come around. She just needs some time. It’s been pretty hectic around here.” Ira soon after politely excused himself, saying he had some business to attend to.
“We had a rogue attack here last week so everyone has been busy, especially the Alphas and Ira since he’s the Beta. That also means more patrols, which I was on when I came across you.” Greyson explained while they passed the small similar homes.
“My pack had one two weeks ago.” Hope stated. “But we were somehow prepared.”
Greyson thought this was curious. How could a pack be prepared for an attack? How would they know it’s coming? Rogues are all about surprise, they aren’t going to let word spread when and who they are attacking.
“Who is your Alpha?” Greyson asked, smiling and nodding to his packmates walking by.
“Alpha Harrison. He is nice, his son will become Alpha in a few more years but we expect the pack to be taken care of just the same as it is now. His son has been doing good about learning his roll and paying attention and actually wanting to be Alpha. But I have a feeling that’ll become a struggle once he finds his mate.” Hope said.
“Yes, finding your mate can be quite a distraction.” Greyson said in a teasing tone.
“Yes, it is.” she agreed.
Greyson’s head was suddenly filled with his Alpha’s voice.
Bring your mate to my office. It’s time I talked to her.
