After Hayley explained the situation to the man with glasses and plaid shirt, Tyler, he led the two of them into the tunnel.

“Hey, guys! Hayley’s here! And she brought a prince with her!” He hollered into the darkness.

Dar sucked in a quick breath, and held it, but didn’t slow his pace beside Hayley. What were these strange people going to be like? Would they be as on edge as Tyler was when he pinned Dar with his sword?

Dar shook it off. They couldn’t be that bad, could they?

Dar felt a bit of relief when his eyes caught sight of light at the end of the tunnel. The introductory of his new companions would begin and be over with very soon. How more simple could this be?

It’s never simple with the Brogers.

The cavern at the end of the tunnel was as if they had taken two stacks of TNT and lit it up in a tight bundle in the center of the room. The walls and ceiling were jagged with stone and coal ore, only possible from a massive explosion. The only thing they had cared to level was the floor, made of cobble, dirt, and granite.

Glow stone was scattered on the uneven ceiling, and with torches lighting up any little corners at the floor level the glow stone couldn't reach, the room couldn't have shone brighter.

Even underground and not in the most attractive looking chamber, a warmness washed over Dar as he soaked in not having to strain his eyes to see five blocks past him.

Several double chests were on the far right hand side of the chamber. A wooden table with six seats tucked under it was placed on the left side of the chamber. At the back wall of the chamber, six wooden doors lined up, two blocks separating each door.

Tyler, now standing with Hayley, mumbled something to himself, irritated. “Come on out you guys!”

Multiple sighs echoed in the cavern, all eerily enough in chorus. Then all but two doors opened simultaneously.

Out stepped four new faces Dar knew he was going to be spending a long time with.

The farthest person on the right was a man with his hair, mustache, coat, pants, and shoes all the color purple. Even his skin color hinted pink. The only thing not purple were his grey buttons and white undershirt.

Beside the purple boy was a deep cherry headed girl with a white paper crown on her head. Her white jacket pulled over her grey tank top. With all this and her shiny black shorts and red sandals, she simply looked adorable.

The second last person on the right was a girl with fierce, fire breathing red hair. Dar was no fashionista, but he couldn’t help but notice immediately how her dazzling emerald eyes matched perfectly with her outfit, a cactus designed tee shirt with dark green sleeves, cactus gloves, dark green shorts, and cactus shoes.

The last person on the right was the biggest surprise of them all. Dar knew hybrids existed in other kingdoms, but never had he seen a whale human.

The whale human wore an iron man mask and had a leafy green belt wrapped around his waist. It must have been a rare species of hybrid from the Ocean Kingdom.

Dar looked past them at the other two doors that didn’t open, wondering if someone was still inside and refusing to come out. But then he remembered Tyler and Hayley also lived here, and thought nothing more of it.

Tyler walked up to the purple man and hit him hard on the back. “It took you nerds long enough to get out here.” He said, in a voice Dar thought he would never be able to describe. It sounded deep, slightly slurred, and harsh on the vocal cords, but not as if he were a smoker; a voice Dar would have thought Tyler were to use if he was drunk.
