"Everybody wants to be a Nigga but, Nobody wants to a Nigga when its time to be a Nigga."
~ JID
What's not to like about this rapper is good. Not because he is an another woke rapper but because I would like to see more rappers like him. JID is very creative from his interludes and intros to his videos down to his verses. I listened and vibed to his songs before he got signed to J.cole and honestly, that's the day I cried because I already knew it was good news and that there would be a collab with them both soon and there was.
JID's song called "Never" and that's what I liked about him at first and then he came out with his album and that is what set the bar for not only for himself but for other rappers as well. There is not one song from JID that I did not like I can relate to most to his music. I am glad to say that his music still brings people together and to me, that is all that matters anymore especially since we are mostly stuck because of quarantine and the fear of the pandemic.
JID's music is for the real and the mature maybe even the strong. There are plenty of messages within his music and there are even strong truths about the world and history on how black people are still suffering from more than just police injustice and wrongful mistreatment. He calls out all of these bigots and makes a big deal why we as people should do more to make the world better place. Also from his suggestions and why he feels the world needs more structure. I can relate to a few songs because of his own situations and or in depth situations for some of his songs and its a real mood and a strong vibe.
